I still think pre op eye examination &  preparation is crucial time. experience and hand skill super important.

femto lasik , I don't think required much hand skill except position the machine and close the flap.

relex smile - yes , required good hand skill and experience surgeon which lasik centre never inform patient(me) real whole process how they remove the lenticule.
u mentioned high power " how high consider high power ? 500? 600?

you working in a lasik centre ? or been working in a lasik centre before ? or u went thru refractive surgery ?

went for eye examination yesterday. at the end of the examination, the consultant let me experience what will happen if i do monovision by adjusting my lens. i can see clearly at near distance but far distance troubles me a lot. so i'm very sure that i won't be choosing mono.. rather wear "old flower" glasses when time comes.

Have been following this forum for awhile and finally decided to do an eye examination at Optimax TTDI. However, I would also like to have a 2nd opinion before I proceed with the LASIK surgery. Any recommendation on where I can get 2nd opinion? So far what I understand from reading this forum:

1. Tun Hussein Onn is not very good
2. KL Eye Specialist Centre is quite good as we have one satisfied customer from there (but kepong is quite far from my place)

Is there any hospital/medical centre closer to Taman Desa/Kuchai Lama/TTDI area?

Really. Vista is also suggesting me to go for monovision. Didn't know then I can't go for 3D movie later on. That is a big nono. I would rather wear reading glasses.

Question for eyedrop:
1.Is it normal for the eye to sometimes sting a little when using eyedrop?
2.Is is ok to use 'cold' eyedrop? It was put on the table with aircon on top.

Small update: I've started working and this work requires me to look at the computer 9-6. Have to remind myself to have a rest every 10 minute but due to workload, I sometimes miss out the timing to put eyedrop. Right now, when I look far away, I notice I was unable to see clearly compare to earlier. I'm very worried now whether my power has gone up. My 3 month check-up is in 3 weeks.

Don't repeat miyoko28 and my mistake , being force and push to this surgeon and end up with problems. NO doctor from their centre able to solve ? to help ? to tell the truth condition of our eye?  just "drama" comments? still a puzzle

Now , a year+ from initial surgery. even miyoko28 done with "unclear" enhancement but no help on vision.

First time posting 

So much good posts here, I believe this is helping a lot of people planning to do Lasik. I wish had stumble upon this sooner.

Anyways, I've been wearing glasses since past 14 years and finally committing on doing Lasik.

I've done my pre-opt detailed scan in and my file was sent to reviewed by Dr Stephen. I was suggested either Femto-Lasik or Smiles, and I'm opting for Femto-Lasik. The catch is I'm suspected with glaucoma and was asked to do OCT test for confirmation before I can proceed with the Lasik surgery. Hoping its turns out to be negative. Anyone here have had the same experience?

Due to the nature of my work, my time is never really my own and everything is last minute. Now I'm just one step away confirming my booking for next week OCT scan and subsequently Lasik surgery with Dr. Stephens. It's the only available time I have at the moment and if I miss this I might have to wait another half a year or so!

Really hoping you guys can share any last minute advice about Dr. Stephen, my treatment and etc.

Well , I will say that a responsible Ophthalmologist will check the candidate's eyes and ensure they are really really a suitable candidate for lasik surgery before perform the surgery.

That's is why I said my surgeon is an un?????? surgeon.

If reading from both orbscan and pachymetry is diff(quite a lot) , how ?

But if reading from both equipment show a big diff. which medical device is more reliable for a post op patient.

I still think that those from medical school/specialist in  "eyes"  they know the real risk of this lasik surgery that is why they themselves avoiding this lasik surgery.

Cheating and lying has caused me to suffer the effect of this lasik surgery.
