Hi Jialat, appreciate your advise on eye drop. If there is choice, I want to change to a cheaper bottle type of eye drop. Currently using Refresh Plus. I also bought Refresh Liquigel, not sure if its ok to use that. Thank you.

hi, refresh plus is available in bottle form also. Bottle type is much cheaper but higher risk of contamination.

So, I've been following this thread closely for the past few weeks. It seems like doing refractive surgery in Malaysia is pretty much a hit or miss, which isn't great considering it's a vital organ.

Should I consider doing it elsewhere?
*
its the same everywhere else.

QUOTE(keyser soze @ May 22 2017, 11:29 AM)
I did my Femto-Lasik at Optimax TTDI HQ, because I believe they should have the best surgeon at HQ.
After PM with Jialat I choose Dr. Chua and I believe I made the right choice.
Very satisfy with my results, can't feel any night vision problem and dry eye. I stop using eye drop after third check up.
*
Dr Chuah kay leong is the only corneal surgeon there, but dr Stephen chung also did many lasik surgery in hq.

*
that prof chua does eyelid surgery, not lasik.

u should ask for dr chuah kay leong.

One more question, is Lasek better than Lasik?
*
lasek is older technology, use blade.

femto lasik is bladeless, more even cut allowed.

Is Refresh Tears good enough to replace Plus?
What should I look for when looking for eye drop? Considering looking for cheaper option (vial or bottle).
Thank you. notworthy.gif
*
plus is better. refresh tears is the most basic, just water.

bottle cheaper but got preservative.

Hi

Please don't repeat my mistake. Don't choose just bc it is near to your house.
Get a skillful and professional consultation from a ethical
Optometrist n  doctor is more important.

Choose wisely

Just my 2 cent
*
this is very true, please take your eyes very very seriously. Always get a corneal surgeon to do your lasik surgery. they can fix it if anything happen during the process.

Hi I'm currently aged 44 this year. My eyes have

short sighted power around 250 - 300
astigmatism
presbyopia
floaters

What do you guys recommend?
*
if i were you, i stick to glasses. because multifocal lasik is nonsense. if u correct the far and astig, u still need reading glasses.

Today is my 3rd day after doing femto-lasik.

No more irritation or watery, just slight dry eyes.

However, my far and near vision is sometimes clear, sometimes blur.

Has anyone experience this? Is this normal?

you did monovision lasik?

Is it the same femto-lasik method at other centres? This is the cheaper for both eyes doing femto-lasik compared to Optimax, i think.  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Yes. I left some short sightness on my non-dominant eye.

Usually, how long does it take for vision to stabilise?
*
depends on individual, both eyes are contributing to vision, that why u see clear and blur alternately.

Hi jialat, I am also keen to undergo lasek/lasik surgery for my eyes.
Have been wearing specs since 1990. Left eye is -6.50, right eye is -8.0
I am allergic to paracedamol and some antibiotics. Not sure the medication allergies will affect anything later.

I am keen to have my eyes checked too.
Will PM you my details for referral letter. Thank you smile.gif

if its totally bladeless then its worth for tat price, just make sure the surgeon is a well trained CORNEAL specialist, whom can trouble shoot lasik cases much better than any general ophthalmologist.

Hi

Referring to your above statement "just make sure the surgeon is a well trained CORNEAL specialist, whom can trouble shoot lasik cases much better than any general ophthalmologist."

I don't think they are able to  , bc the surgery is done.

Most surgeon for refractive surgery are not corneal specialist. Dr.Stephen Chung and Dr.Yen are not corneal specialist.
I will said that corneal specialist will conduct a more thorough pre op exam compare to others ophthalmologist.

For my case , dr. yen didn't even examine my eyes during pre op comprehensive eye examination.
Post op check up by a corneal specialist , "trouble shoot  " as mentioned by you ????

not helping in my case. my vision remain poor. NO SOLUTION!!!!!!!!
*
its more for during surgery trouble shooting, after surgery its tougher to trouble shoot.

look for corneal specialist to do your lasik especially high power eyes.
