“MCT not only donated the land but are also the top three contributors towards the school building funds. We hope other developers, especially those with projects in Cyberjaya near the school, can follow suit,” he said, adding that some developers were using the school as a selling point to attract buyers.

Come on MCT the land for school is not donated by you but make mandatory to set aside by local government.
Anyway good for them to donate money and raise funds to build more chinese school, win win for residents and developer. The other developers mean who ha? SP Setia, Mah Sing? Sunsuria?

If you think the school will benefit you, just do bit of your part rather than point fingers why they couldn't do more.

My 2cents to get things moving.

I see, most developer said they have "donated" land for school that wash hand in fact this is local government regulation to make developer to set aside land for the residents as such this is WRONG to say them DONATE the land. Anyway MCT still good at leasst they spearhead the building fund donation.

So far only very few developers in Klang Valley willing to donate million(s) to build chinese school, off hand I can remember Gamuda and IOI did contribute few million for relocation of SJK C Chung Hwa Klang in Kota Kemuning and SJK C Ladang Harcoff in Puchong, even so public especially the local communities also donated millions then only these schools materialised. Cyberjaya buyer should contribute too, this school should help in property appreciation.

The only developer that need no public donation to build chinese school as far as I know is Matrix Concept Holding Berhad for SJK C Kampung Baru Parit Tinggi in Bandar Sri Sendayan, RM10million spent for school equipped with 32 classrooms, multi-purpose hall, audio-visual theatre etc

Regardless what is their own agenda, if it benefit the residents, the residents should support it.

There may not 100,000 ppl will donate to the clause but with each ppl donating, the step is getting closer to get the school built. Furthermore, some will donate more.

Beancounter I think you are being too pessimistic la! laugh.gif

Its understandable...land in cyberjaya is not cheap...as its pricing inflated by cyberview and sold to developer...

We should respect more they willing to give up a land for the school...it has totally no return in terms of $ back to their pocket. I disnt see sp setia econglades doing it or MS garden residence...

Usually the agreement is for every high end development they develop they will giveway a section plot of land for medium cost apartment/flat but that too gives back return to them...

Lakefront is located on 60acre of land. Some other bigger land such as Sejati, Symphony Hills and SEG are not required to build public facilities.

I do not think it is obligation from MCT's part to contribute the land for the SRJK Chinese. 6acre or 10% of the land allocated for school. If MCT decided to develop the land, it can easily generate RM400-500m GDP on it.

But I agree with Beancounter. It is probably more of MCT's agenda to promote and sell their properties in LakeFront.

Cybersouth is 417 acres lah

Cybersouth - An upcoming sprawling 417-acre township, weaving together wholesome residential, vibrant commercial and recreational zones. An expansive integrated development project located in "The Golden Triangle" of the Southern Klang Valley, Cybersouth will form the new centre of gravity, establishing itself as the anchor point to Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, KLIA and other affluent townships.

The Chinese school not on CS de..

Also.. they committed to build the school even before they launch CS..

It will make more sense to build in CS if their intention is to promote CS.

MCT should just "sell" naming rights of the school building or facilities to the top 10 corporate donors. Can have "MCT block", "Setia Basketball Court", "Paramount Canteen", " HSBC lab", etc. Commercialise it like the Air Asia Bukit Bintang Monorail station.

This will motivate corporate donors to speed up their action. If not, how many food fair MCT have to organise for normal residence like us to buy coupon and raise RM5million?

As far as I remember for housing project exceed 1,000 units a primary school is required under housing guideline, here the guideline I found from the net.

Sekolah rendah

http://s-w5.mpsp.gov.my/garispanduan/lampi...0BUMIPUTERA.pdf

This explain why project near by with bigger land but lesser unit need not to provide land for school, understand that total unit for MCT 's Lakefront exceed 2,000 units.
