Indeed there is a problem..

The government has set that the minimum requirements to pursue MD/MBBS is a CGPA of 3.00> for STPM (science stream). All IPTS in Malaysia abide by this rule.

so.... you figure it out~ laugh.gif

So far i heard that there were no limits for all the foundation intakes. They will take in as much as they can and eliminate those who could not make it. That's how they make money i guess.

My bro is planning to enroll 4 foundation in science in Aimst.
How is the reputation of the university?

The accomodation at Aimst is freaking expensive .. rm500 for double sharing room! Nottingham Malaysia only charge RM385 for that. Anyone know cheaper accomodation within walking distance to the campus?

I'm sorry if they are stupid question but I'm not a medic student. Just an engineering student from Nottingham.

Inputs are truly appreciated.

Thanks

foundation students are required to stay in the hostel...well there's the RM450 for quadruple sharing room =)

then, another 3 years compulsory (if taking mbbs/bds)...means a total of 4 years in the hostel...

but i may be able to help out with this...pm me for details...

1. stpm results just came out, so just quickly submit your application...not sure when is the closing date
2. afaik, no interview...
3. there should be a first come first serve for non-foundation students..but your results are excellent...chances are good...
4. uh, csrules, need your help here...but if you need to know, mara is sending students to aimst, and gov has sent students here (for stpm 02/03)...should be fine...
5. facilities, in general, are good
6. no discount, as you are applying using your stpm results...the only discount i know of, is when you repeat (should you fail to qualify to the following year)
7. employability is the same as any other universities
8. no

anyone pls do correct me, if i'm wrong...

The accommodation includes food. (breakfast, lunch, dinner) ... though its nothing to sing about; its still edible. That's why it looks expensive. Most unis don't offer this kind of thing (for a good reason). On the whole the accommodation is cheap. You get heater showers and its like a normal apartment. You get a metal cupboard, bed with mattress and a study table with a chair individually. You share a shoe rack and towel hangers. You got to get a LAN cable for the net and probably a router as there is one port per room.

Of course, there are much better comfortable places to stay around ... I recommend BLM (just avoid the Stroke 3 houses) or Legenda Heights but its about 10 kms away from the campus. It is near the hospital (useful for clinical students). But if you wanna fork out petrol, look for your own food and etc. ... you better get attenuated with this place first. I however do not recommend the housing estates around the university; there is just NO INTERNET ACCESS plus a host of other crappy things (security, food n etc.). Trust me, it is bad enough living in a jungle but being disconnected, no! It is really poor cost benefit ratio.

My two cents: stay in the hostel for sometime, get to know semeling, bedong, sp, then arrange your housemates, look for a nice house deal (normally at most comes upto 800 per house [5 rooms]) and move out together.

hope this helps.
bye.

sure it is recognised by the MMC, even the 1st batch have graduated and practicing already. and i dun think there's a problem of employment for the doctors now, but MMA said there might be excess of doctors in 2014, so competition might come in.
