does the 10x swipes must be happen on 1st of month to end of month or depend on statement date?

3.
How do I earn the 10% cash back?

Just swipe a minimum of any 10 retail transactions monthly (minimum of RM50 per transaction) to activate the 10% cash back on your selected cash back categories.

so it is based on monthly right? not statement date
*
Yes, posted transactions within the calendar month.

Damn ! I checked again, only listed 2 of my CASA accounts as payment source for IWK. My OCBC Ti not listed as payment source.  Got to give OCBC a call.

Thanks codeiki and MGM for the update.

One WISE man's meat is another UNWISE man's poison.
If you can't achieve RM50 x 10 transactions, don't blame HLB for coming out with the "10-swipe rule".
We believe WISE people like me, tbheng, herc, and others have "outsmart" HLB each month without fail.

I think my total wise card cash back now is enough to buy a new iPad mini with retina display. Next year maybe can upgrade again to iPad air 2 with a small top up.  drool.gif

Since many of you are interested to know whether the AF is waiveable or not, here is the "preliminary" good news.
My card anniversary is early Feb, so I called up HLB for AF waiver. I was told by the CS:
"" Yes, I can waive the annual fee for you but I can't see the AF charges in your account yet. Please call us again after you see the AF charges in your statement, then we will be able to waive it for you.""
I reminded the CS again that mine was a WISE VISA card and CS reconfirmed, Yes is waiveable.

I will take this good news with a pinch of salt first before I got my AF waived. Wait for my good news after CNY.
*
Wah, you got a very promising good news there!
You request to waive and not pulling the "cancellation" trick, right? Great! rclxm9.gif
Keep us posted. Thanks.

I just called them, they explain to me like that.

Anyone can confirm this? rclxms.gif

Whoa...Congrats! rclxms.gif
Did you get your Wise card in Feb or Jan 2013?
Caused din see the GST being charged in your statement. When was the GST posted?
Did you called HL earlier to request for GST off-set and AF waiver?
Mine will be coming soon. unsure.gif

this is a very good card
i almost contemplated in cancelling my blue/green visa cashback platinum(fake platinum) from citibank for this card.

i changed my mind because the customer service is very bad
they put me on hold before i can speak to someone for a long time
i don't mind pressing 1, 2,3 to select language etc
but i expect to speak to a human within 1 minute.

bad CS experience could be a one off encounter, giving up a very good card just like that? The card that gives 10% Cb, you can't find elsewhere.
*
+1000. Good CC is hard to come by. I'll go for their CC than their CS. smile.gif
Though CS is important, but I don't need them as often as the CC itself.
Besides, there are worst CS than this. Some don't even know their own product (my experience on AEON CS for their Watami cc). But I keep both Wise and Watami CC. tongue.gif

Hi guys, just to share my recent experience on 2nd year GST off-set request.
No luck at all. Even to the verge of cancelling also cannot off-set.
Just trying my luck as I heard the CS says maybe able to get those "swipe x times to get GST off-set" offer lah. tongue.gif
Anyone succeed in this?

You should just say "please cancel it then"
*
Haha...in fact when I ask for off-set, they already block my cards (treating like canceallation request) and the cust retention team called and notify no means to off-set. And she say even cancel now also got to pay GST as it is already in. And I hv transactions after the GST is in. doh.gif
I was just trying my luck. Failing which still untung lah, just lower returns only. tongue.gif

it looks like you can't see the cash back online for HLB Wise, guess have to wait for the paper statement
*
You can only see the CB entries after they have posted on 28th of each month.
So, CB for Jan 2014 can only be seen at HL connect after 28 Feb. (usually a day or two later)

based on this info, the most minimum amount to spend in order to get rm100 cash rebate is rm750.

1) rm55 x 10 times = rm550 = rm60 cash back (rm6 x 10 times)
2) rm5 x 40 times = rm200 = rm40 cash back (rm1 x 40 times)

total = rm750 = rm100 cash back

super kiasu counting!  thumbup.gif  rclxms.gif

extra work but save rm250 monthly (rm750 instead of rm1000).  sweat.gif
*
I did a check on my historical records. I believe the CB is round up at category level and not per transaction basis.
Based on the above examples:
Category 1 : total spend = RM550, CB = RM55
Category 2 : total spend = RM200, CB = RM20

Based on my observation, the highest effective CB is 10.15%, where spend RM985 to get max CB of RM100.
e.g. Category 1 : total spend = RM325, CB = RM33
Category 2 : total spend = RM325, CB = RM33
Category 3 : total spend = RM335, CB = RM34
=> Total spend = RM985, CB = RM100, effective 10.15%.
I tried that in Jan (just for fun lah), spent RM985.10 and max out CB at RM100. tongue.gif

I choose petrol + grocery + mobile(default)
Rest are done by my MBB dual cards.
My total monthly spending are only rm1000 or lesser most of the time.
But all people need to buy grocery, so I fill the quota by buying Top detergent(2.5kg) for rm9.90(after rebet about rm9.10) and sell back at rm9.90 also. So in actual, I'm getting each month rm100(total rm1000 spent) + rm8(sold 10 bags a month) whistling.gif
*
Sorry, how come it is 9.10? After 10% CB, it should be only 8.90, right? hmm.gif
And how did you get another RM8? Wouldn't all your gain coming from the CB (which is RM100), unless you sell higher than your buying price?

You see, most people(including you) will have a wrong preception that WISE offers 10% of cash back. In actual, you need to pay annual fee(rm160 for gold)+GST of rm50. So make up to rm210. Assuming you swipe rm1000 sharp every month and get back rm100, it will be rm1200(max cash back).
Deduct the rm210, cash back you get is rm82.50 a month only. So in actual, you are getting 8.25%. So for rm9.90 Top detergent, it is ~rm9.10 actually.
That rm8 I get is from the Top detergent I sell to my friends/relatives. With this rm8(or more if I can sell more), I can use it to pay my water bill.
Lots of people asking why I need to spend so much a month? Now my house's storeroom are full of Top detergent. icon_rolleyes.gif
I just give them an answer : I spend rm1000 a month, I'm only paying rm9++, so my ringgit is slightly bigger than your ringgit.
*
Thanks for clarification.
But my simple calculation is... you buy @ 9.90, you swipe 9.90 and you sell @ 9.90. So there is no gain in this re-sell.
You only gain from the CB. So the RM8 gain is not existence. (Unless you sell it > 9.90, then will have gain.)
Besides, check those earlier posts, AF is waivable from those reported.

EDIT: The RM8 gain is a double counting. You either count the gain from the CB or from the re-sell (and then deduct from the CB). Hence you won't get (RM100 CB + RM8 gain) as in your original post.

HLB Connect going to get a fresh make-over come 8 March (3pm onwards).
Let's hope we get eStatement option for CC smile.gif

The new HL Connect does look refreshing. cool2.gif
But....still don't have the long waited cc e-statement. Sigh! HLB... doh.gif
On the other hand, it does show un-statemented transactions for supp cards now.
