QUOTE(silrave @ Apr 14 2013, 02:10 PM) wah the reception problem is it can solve by software? I think this is an issue that you need not worry about unnecessary. It is like saying the Ferrari goes from 1-100 faster by 0.2 secs vs the Porsche - and said I should have bought the Ferrari instead I'd say is decent enough and you will not be disappointed. There are many 3rd party network booster apps that you can test/try if you so wish

QUOTE(LordDenning @ Apr 14 2013, 02:16 PM) I am just like you. I am not a professional either who concerns about colour saturation, noise, etc etc. As long as it looks good I'm happy with it. That's why I'm asking you about your opinion. An opinion of a lay person just like me. I'm not asking which phone has the better camera, which one has better colour saturation, which one is better than this and that... I'm just asking comparing both the htc one or note 2, which would you prefer? Seriously I find both equally good. But I like the HTC faster capture and burst best photo mode

QUOTE(Tsukiyomi001 @ Apr 14 2013, 12:46 PM) thank you! it shows that your phone is made on 2 March 2013 people have been complaining about build quality for he early batches, and from what I see, batches made after 30 March seems to be generally fine... do you have any build quality issues? btw, we'll feel more heat as our ambient temperature is higher than those ang mohs the photos are quite OK, very less noise in the computer photo, focused correctly on the center for the flower photos, and got the exposure right in the lawn photo as you were pointing it towards the subject nearer to you hence the blown out background (try using HDR/Backlight mode for these kind of situation) and, i think we need better subject & weather to show how well this camera can do try using these tips to take better pictures http://www.phonearena.com/news/HTC-One-Ult...-review_id41691Thanks for your comments and tips from phonearena All these tips from photoarena , seriously I am not interested to go through all those steps just to take some better shot ? I prefer the quick , lazy method - just point and click. As long as pics don't turn out blur, I am satisfied. Anyway my photo quality requirements not high unlike some users here This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 14 2013, 07:31 PM

My 2 days love affair with the HTC One ended this morning. It is without doubt a great smartphone. Those planning to get it will not regret. The best HTC I have used to date. I would have like to get it myself if the display is at least 5 inches . HTC unresolved settings to hide the 3 dot menu that appears at bottom was another deterrent. Maybe custom roms will be a solution. Strange this can be hidden in the Butterfly but not allowed in this HTC1. Would like to see more feedbacks from present users. My 2 days impression n thoughts could be inaccurate n please do correct those you think is wrong. Finally andrewtwl : you should receive your unit tomorrow as I will be sending it out this morning.

I will always discourage users from committing themselves to a 2 year contract with Digi simply due to their poorer download speeds. Once you experienced the very much higher download speeds from say Celcom or Maxis ( 2-10 times faster) , you will regret. Of course everyone hopes Digi will improve their infrastructure. I have given up on Digi after 8 years waiting for their promise to be fulfilled

QUOTE(MsiaqweR @ Apr 15 2013, 03:07 PM) I think it is ok for ppl to compare, just like ppl compare:- BN vs PR Malaysia vs Singapore BMW vs Audi Your classmates' results vs your results Only by comparing, one may able to aim higher and be motivated. Comparison is Ok but the greatest problem is always fanboyism always crop in. You will read of such fans in defending their favorite will "condemn" other brands. Sometimes I "laugh" at their comments and worse they do not even have hands on experience with the phones they are comparing. They just pull out stuffs from the air based on what they read on the web. Such fans get so fixated in their opinions, they just refuse to acknowledge the strengths of the other brands Then we will also see comments saying website A is biased toward brand ABC while website B is biased towards brand DEF, etc etc

HTC One build quality issue These photographs I must say is really bad : HTC zero gap construction is a fail here http://www.asiaone.com/News/Latest%2BNews/...415-415969.htmlhttp://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-h...r-and-main-bodyhttp://gsminsider.com/forum/index.php?topic=8.0This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 15 2013, 08:36 PM

QUOTE(joelucas91 @ Apr 15 2013, 08:35 PM) Typical responses - hopefully is quality issues in first batch. Hope subsequent batches will not have such. Few users only in hardwarezone.sg already reported their sets having similar misaligned seam issues Just need to check carefully before paying http://gsminsider.com/2013/04/01/htc-one-s...onger-zero-gap/This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 15 2013, 08:42 PM

QUOTE(Moonflown @ Apr 15 2013, 08:46 PM) Hi Benny, I heard the 3dots (menu bar) on the bottom can be disabled. Can it be done without customs? I was unable to find how to disable it. Tried googling and seems no solution. It was easy in Butterfly - in settings/display/gestures I just choose the recent button as menu and hold down for recent and the 3 dot menu will disappear. But no such option in the HTC one. Went through all the menus in settings, just couldn't find it I'd like to know too how to disabled it as it auto reduced display size to about 4.5 inch for many of the older apps; even latest Facebook version is affected too

I would say the stock Rom is Ok for most users. Only those who like further tweaks will go to custom for more possibilities. I flash my butterfly solely to have Sense5 on it. I would say current OEM roms whether is Samsung, HTC, Sony are very much improved over say previous GB,ICS versions If I ever get this HTC1 myself I will still flash custom Rom as is just my habit to always have something different from ordinary. But be mentally prepared that warranty could be void as unlock bootloader is required

QUOTE(pennykia @ Apr 16 2013, 03:06 AM) i just got warranty issue for my htc one X ... they reject my warranty request, coz i unlocked my phone throught htcdev.com ( i send in as stock firmware, re-locked) wifi problems + front camera blue-ish.... IMHO, if u wan to root ur phone, stay away from HTC for time being. only way to flash custom rom, u need to unlocked bootloader(thou htcdev.com). therefore warranty gone.... i'm trying to talk with them on this issue, but i think the chances is low. as market, apple or samsung still grant you warranty as long as the unit u send in is stock firmware. HTC even reject my mybeat earphone cause my unit is unlocked thou htcdev.com lol....zzzz What were you claiming ? There are several users who claim that they could successfully claim warranty even on phones send in with bootloader unlock. Again this depends on what you wish to claim and is at HTC discretion. Warranty will be FOC if they feel is not due to BL unlock/rooted About 4+ years ago, I have successfully got my motherboard replace FOC ( defective GPS chip) for my rooted phone and is an AP set which I bought from SS15
