Many have problem with international traffics and not local, the fibre is only for the end of mile and not the international link. So, no .. Maxis should bucks up and fix their international routing now.

Hah.. as the rest, maxis came back today saying that they're experiencing this problem due to routing upgrade which will probably done sometime in end of this month. So, nothing much we could do for now. Guess they're closing my case too.

Guys, I just tested my iTunes Radio and netflix today after almost giving up hope a week ago. Everything plays fine now. No buffering at all from all services and quality I get is 720p and above. Can anyone else confirm this?
*
Mine seems to be okay too now. No more buffering at least and the quality is quite goo too just now. How long it will last? I've no idea. FB videos seem to be fine too, I could play them now.

Take a chill pill dude, not need to call people names, as others have pointed out, not happy, just call up maxis, pester them, which I did when I got problem. The latest problem with routing has been fixed now, tho I won't recommend others to take Maxis package, I don't simply whack people who gave good review on maxish ftth.

Yup, couldn't get into netflix at all now sad.gif It seems like a yo-yo, traceroute going through singtel and mci. It was stuck before, and now back to okay.

looked online but there is no definite answer, feel that all maxis stuffs are covering up
i know it isnt because of poor seeding because my celcom line works fine hmm.gif

I plan on installing the Maxis Fibre 10Mbps plan within the week or so and my main purpose would be gaming, watching streams, streaming and torrenting.

If I ask for a public IP would I be able to do all of those smoothly? I can live with occasional ping spikes but preferably the spikes are not as bad as people complain they are in the Maxis forums.
*
You've read all the complains and yet you're expecting them to be better? NO .. you'll get the same as all of us ... suffering .. Public or private IP won't help you much in any way ..

Go into command line, issue nslookup command. It will give you the default server and ip address of your DNS server. If it is not as you expected, then your setting is not correct.

For anybody's reference, Maxis auto-disconnects all FTTH users 48 hours after your last successful connection. Why, I don't know - presumably so that you don't get a pseudo-static IP, I can only guess. Your router will automatically reconnect - but yes, it can be annoying.
*
I've no idea if the private IP will get the IP renewal thingy, but for those with public IP, the reason I believe that they do not want us to run kind of server on our machine. Tho you can work around using DNS and updating the DNS with your latest IP whenever this happened, but at least by doing IP renewal, it deters some of the subscriber for doing so. I've a scrip in my router which will do IP renewal before the 48 hours lapse so I could run a script to update my IP to certain servers (especially the unblock-us).

Well, that depends. IIRC, TM will/can pull another cable if you're on a landed property (correct me guys, if this info is outdated or just wrong), but for condos or apartments, they will not pull another cable. If you're in a condo/apartment, you will need to terminate your current account first, before subscribing to a new one, (based on what a TM installer told me), so the timeframe depends on how fast Maxis terminates your account.

That stated, the fastest way is to go to a TM outlet and register, and wait 24-48 hours for an appointment date, then installation.
*
It's pretty fast, they'll just need to reconfigure your modem and add another router to the free ethernet port of your modem. That what they did on mine before.
