hey guys... is it aeon doing sales now? saw the banner at aeon just now... not sure if it is work for lego...
*
Yes. LEGO can get for 10% discount.

Was at Mid Valley today and was looking out for the Police Sets. Namely the 3 sets below:

# 60007 - High Speed Chase
# 60008 - Museum Break-In
# 60009 - Helicopter Arrest

TRU has # 60009 - but no 60007 & 60008
AEON has # 60007 & 60008 but no # 60009

Very strange findings. Either the distribution is all messed up or the missing sets were all sold out?

Hand itchy so ended up with tiny haul today.

Made a quick stop at Toys R Us Ikano Power Center and again, there is only LEGO # 60009 - Helicopter Arrest. Very strange.

I see ALJ pricing is back again  doh.gif  Got a feeling these sets will be peg warmers like the the hospital 4429 sets in all the TRU  doh.gif
*
Plenty of Hospital sets but I saw one of LEGO City - # 7498 but box has slight damage all around. But look at the price!

For some weird reason ALJ price based on the box price plus some other factors. That is why you will see sets like Creator with big boxes costing much more although they are the same price as their small counterpart. Then of course the huge markup on Star Wars, Superheroes and LOTR. The police station is a classic example of an overpriced set and there is simply no reason for it to be priced this way. Other sets is Destiny's Bounty, Batcave, Unexpected gathering, Dino HQ.

The hospital has its charm, but I too cannot accept the fact it cost so much for a simple building plus some minifigs, one of which does not have a proper printing (the doctor, torso and leg different color of white jacket).

Some of the sets in TRU lagi teruk, has been warming the shelfs since 2011 or earlier if I am not mistaken. The Toy Story, Prince of Persia stuff simply cannot sell at such an overpriced price. So high that even during TRU sale also nobody buys them!
*
My eyes almost popped out of the sockets when I saw the price of the Police Station - RM 559.90. The price in HK is only HKD 989.90 (Based on XE converter - 989.00 HKD = 393.901 MYR)

LEGO City # 7498 - Police Station in Hong Kong

And yes, I've seen alot of damaged Toy Story and Prince Of Persia stuff at TRU Mid Valley.

Yup, that's the one in my spoiler. Looks like an awesome set. Nice one!

Where did you get it from and how much was it?

I also realized from the Hong Kong Toys R Us page that the 2013 Police sets are called "Elite Police". I guess the "SWAT" bullet-proof vests are what makes them "Elite" compared to the regular black uniformed policemen and women.

You're right. Didn't notice the Set Number. But the contents looks the same though.

Still, 4-in-1 for that price is a good deal!

Oh, on 2nd thought - maybe save the ammo for other LEGO sets instead.

Collected my mini haul(another!) from sisters today. They just came back from Singapore. Asked them to get this for me sometime back after I couldn't find it in Malaysia.

Will post pic when I get home later tonight.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!

Got time to buy but too busy to build this weekend (feels like it almost every weekend!) due to chores and errands.

Luckily all series 4 dun have the security sticker. Only series 3 affected. I got stopped at the exit when the alarm sound, then the salesgirl nearby come and see whats inside my shopping bag. She peel of the sticker without any feeling despite i told her to be careful. I tot oklah, only boxes kena.  But today...  What an eyesore.  Going to exchange them. If they dun have any stock left, im going to brickboy..
*
So I'm curious - what do you guys do with the price tag (if any)? Do you leave them on the package?

Personally, I rip them of as carefully as I can.

Can't stand the sight of them spoiling the looks of the box art. Yeah, I guess I'm abit OCD-ish like that tongue.gif

The "impact" of tabulating lego spending using computer doesnt work for me. Annual housekeeping (usually preCNY)  must require me to take a good look of my lego boxes in the storeroom and then came to realisation that I've spent too much on these , and vow to be more frugal in the coming months. hehehe

A vow that we break almost all the time huh? tongue.gif

Vows don't work for me. LOL

NOTHING can stop us from buying more huh? Even at the thought of numbers going higher and higher from month to month wink.gif

That's why my wishlist keeps getting longer. I've even started thinking to include *horror* modulars!

34 in August. Yikes!

Also liked those FB pages mentioned in an earlier post. Double yikes!

Just wondering, did I miss something or is there no 2013 Police Station? There is a Fire Station but no Police Station.

To get the old set or wait for next one. Maybe next one might have the Navy Blue uniform like the cop from Series 9 CMF. Think they're based on NYPD cops.

Thats a really good price. May as well buy 1 set for investment. 2-3 years after discontinued, sure price skyrocket.
Just see the old Arkham set at Brickboys. The condition of the box is sad, but the price....WOW.

Which Brickboys bro? Recently on sale? Curious, how much is it?

QUOTE(maxilife1 @ Apr 1 2013, 04:55 PM)
So here's my review on the set 6860 Batcave..

Pros:
1. Great minifigs - Bane & Ivy
2. Cool Bane vehicle with some gearing
3. luv the bruce wayne to batman transformation (changing suit)
4.

Cons:
1. Small set compare to the old batcave version
2. dont like the chair

Overall: nice set..but i do prefer the old batcave heheh

*
Ooh. You built it already bro? Nice - mine still in box tongue.gif

Do you have the old Batcave?

I had this idea to see if I can do mods to the Batcycle when I open mine. Maybe bring the flick missles front next to the front wheel to make it a bit more Bat-podish.

But I have lack of spare parts and don't know the instructions (and haven't checked online) so not sure if it's possible yet.

Unless LEGO planning a Wayne Manor set with Alfred and a Lamborghini or two with the set wink.gif

Good morning!

Here's something sci-fi related. I've seen this project previously but think the Crescent Claw and Black Fenix are new.

LEGO CUUSOO - Galaxy Command

I like the design of the Crescent Claw fighter.

And the Black Fenix Squad looks pretty bad@$$
