QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Apr 7 2013, 12:01 AM) don't know why I feel perseus quite drain battery I'm using sklchan's recommended settings. surf facebook awhile, few % gone now using stock kernel from ARHD 38H usage now, 3H20M SOT still with 10% battery left. Quite a lot of wakelocks (short ones though) but to be honest I really don't bother to investigate further. Also, I have uninstalled the problematic Viber and looks like my battery retains longer now. |

To update on rooting method. This time I did not use ChengLu method ( root cum CWM) but opt instead for Chainfire auto root. You can download his file from
http://download.chainfire.eu/264/CF-Root/C...gxx-gtn7100.zip Flash the extracted tar file as PDA using Odin in PC According to dr Ketan : Method 1: Disadvantage : Here you will get full root access, but here recovery will remain stock, so you won't have option to flash zip files (still you can flash zip with Mobile Odin), but you won't have any option for Nandroid backup/Restore. Advantage : You have to reset flash counter once only, then whenever you need to reset to unroot/ready to claim warranty, just you need to go to superSU - setting - unroot. So If you are Flash counter conscious and really don't have need for nandroid backup, This one is for You. His mentioned disadvantage can be easily overcome . Just use Mobile Odin and flash the TWRP recovery img.tar file and you will have recovery installed The TWRP img file can be downloaded at : http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/n7100 |

New toy ?
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/mana...otificationoff/ Manage Your Notifications with NotificationOff Notifications in Android are indeed a great thing to have. They come in handy for knowing exactly what is going on with many of our daily use apps. You get things like alarms, email , SMS, phone calls, and many other system and application related activities that you may need to be aware of. Having said that, there are always two sides to every coin and what can be useful for many, can indeed be quite an annoyance for others. There are people who need not keep track of every action that goes on in the device and definitely hate the intrusiveness of certain apps that use notifications as means of advertising. If you see yourself as someone in the latter group, then XDA Forum Member mcnamaragio has something in store that you might be interested in. |

Made a few changes in the Tools and Procedures post 7, and added couple of things to Advanced. See changelog.
