QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 8 2013, 10:47 AM) This is crazy. Any DS Battery Saver thingy? To be fair you have never had good battery life. Too many social apps kut. QUOTE(joytest @ Apr 8 2013, 09:59 AM) New Toy: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/ultr...-file-explorer/Ultra Explorer Open Source Android File Explorer Packing all the standard feature that you’d expect from any typical file explorer such as root browsing, list and grid views, and zip/unzip functionality, this one also brings a few bells and whistles to the table. Some of the feature you might not have expected include: combined navigation bar and search, gesture bookmarks, built in PDF viewer, built in media viewer with support for formats including mp3,wav,ogg,m4a and more, process manager, app backup manager, duplicate file manager. I think we have too many explorer apps. Solid and Root explorer apps are already very good. Dun see any new one able to make it any better. This post has been edited by antt00: Apr 8 2013, 12:07 PM

joytest How come there are 35 responses to the kernel survey but only 14 votes? Is it because every click on the voting link count as a response?

QUOTE(joytest @ Apr 8 2013, 04:46 PM) I have no idea. So I will clear all and create a fresh form and sheet. It could have counted some test votes I did earlier. I will copy the current data over to the fresh sheet so those who have submitted don't need to redo. However if you are trying a new kernel or kernel version you can submit another entry. Antt00 will be happy to maintain the versioning BTW please provide me some details for Abyss and Thor, or any other kernels for the Note 2 that are out there, so it can be included. What info you need? Just add Abyss and Thor to the dropdown list.

QUOTE(klmc @ Apr 8 2013, 10:34 PM) well i kena and it does exist for note 2. now still ok cos under warranty but i was just thinking when its out of warranty ? then how? change mobo might as well buy new phone I know it exist, never said it does not. There are different firmware of the chip. Only FwRev: 0xf1 is affected so far. So if you get it back with a different chip or different fw then it should be safe. Newer note 2 no longer comes with this fw version. This post has been edited by antt00: Apr 8 2013, 10:55 PM

QUOTE(rahuldave @ Apr 9 2013, 11:26 AM) The APN settings is fine as I could connect most of the time and my telco is not having any problem at my area. I suspect the firmware version does have some problem with the connectivity. Any idea guys? Which firmware? All the firmware i tried never had any issues with data connection. Only time i face this is when the telco itself have problem.

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Apr 9 2013, 11:50 AM) 1071214 what does this number even denote? is it 1,071,214 changes?? Thats what the majority assume. All previous XXD rom only have 679,347. So there is almost 400,000 changes since those. This post has been edited by antt00: Apr 9 2013, 11:52 AM

QUOTE(joytest @ Apr 9 2013, 11:52 AM) Nice site. Is this site more intuitive to navigate/search than Sammobile? Been bz this morning, and was KO last night. Will add to post 7 later. Sammobile is better. The link for rom on samsung-updates site also taken from sammobile. This is just an alternative site that provide slightly more details.

QUOTE(arslow @ Apr 9 2013, 12:51 PM) waa, u sure dualnote's batt life comparable to wanam? I usually avoid themed ROM as they might have worse batt life compared to stock. Might try that ROM one day Would be nice if we can get back the idle batt life of 4.1.1 Dual note is a good rom. Use it before but forgot the battery life good or not oledi.

QUOTE(ashx @ Apr 9 2013, 03:49 PM) I'm having a dilema. If you have a choice of s3 *free versus RM449 note 2. In terms of easiness of rooting *OFW/CFW, which would sway me? Does the slight decrease of DPI an issue? Thx Rooting is similar. CFW is similar. OFW both should receive similar respond from Samsung. So its a tie..... Note 2 have advantage in 2gb ram, bigger screen and spen. But that's about it.

QUOTE(ashx @ Apr 9 2013, 04:11 PM) hmm.. i don't really care to use CFW TBH. I just want it to be rooted with OFW, sorely for titanium and SDMaid usage. Can't live without those 2. So note 2 is easy to root ya? I'm coming from s2/tabs.. i'm done with cfw S2, S3, Note 2 etc. all can be rooted similarly. If u can root S2 than there is no issue. QUOTE(EdwinCodec @ Apr 9 2013, 06:34 PM) I scare after all the fixes then the problem still persist and needa send back to them again. Waste of time. A defect device can never be fix in a 80% rate i can say. Btw: I'm new to Android devices, used to be an i5 owner. I realize there's no 3g on my note 2 whenever i go. It appears sometimes for less than 1 sec and it gone off back to H. Is this normal? Or it's another connectivity issue on the phone itself? You cannot take apart components like wifi etc.. It all comes in 1 mainboard. So if one of it is defective they have to change the whole mainboard. So it will be like a new device except using back same casing and etc. Some people have manage to get 1 to 1 after "singing" alot to the customer service but still have to subject to samsung management approval or something like that.

QUOTE(EdwinCodec @ Apr 9 2013, 06:41 PM) Which means basically it's a whole new phone, why can't they change 1 to 1 =.= haih I don't get what u mean. What u meant by not normal if you're in 3g or H coverage? Normally my phone written H almost all the time. H better than 3g or 3g better than H ah? Its just different way of running business. Exchange 1 to 1 means u got lots of second hand spare parts cos most hardware is still good. So in the end, future 1 to 1 will be given refurb sets. Changing only defect parts means no additional second hand spare parts and no refurb sets. Damage phones get new parts. Up to each company to run their own way. But i do agree that Samsung should give 1 to 1 exchange for sets that are defective immediately after purchase. Maybe 1 week grace period.
