To update on rooting method. This time I did not use ChengLu method ( root cum CWM) but opt instead for Chainfire auto root. You can download his file from
http://download.chainfire.eu/264/CF-Root/C...gxx-gtn7100.zip
Flash the extracted tar file as PDA using Odin in PC

According to dr Ketan :

Method 1:
Disadvantage : Here you will get full root access, but here recovery will remain stock, so you won't have option to flash zip files (still you can flash zip with Mobile Odin), but you won't have any option for Nandroid backup/Restore.
Advantage : You have to reset flash counter once only, then whenever you need to reset to unroot/ready to claim warranty, just you need to go to superSU - setting - unroot.
So If you are Flash counter conscious and really don't have need for nandroid backup, This one is for You.

His mentioned disadvantage can be easily overcome . Just use Mobile Odin and flash the TWRP recovery img.tar file and you will have recovery installed
The TWRP img file can be downloaded at :

new redpill i think is not as good as the latest perseus from battery life POV sad.gif
*
I always stick to perseus kernel. Dont know why others eg redpill just do not appeal to me. Together with monx rom perfect combo
I did not even bother to use stweaks included
Battery life excellent. Example last night with 3g on n active fb , gmail notification drop only 1% from 97 to 96 over 9 hours
I have achieved 7.5 hours SOT with still 15% battery left

So what are you waiting for ?
Get the Note2
Stop all the survey in the various threads
I can tell you easily 6 to 7 hours SOT n you need not do any extra stuffs
Getting 8 to 9 hours is common for me

I scare after all the fixes then the problem still persist and needa send back to them again. Waste of time. A defect device can never be fix in a 80% rate i can say.
Btw: I'm new to Android devices, used to be an i5 owner. I realize there's no 3g on my note 2 wherever i go. It appears sometimes for less than 1 sec and it gone off back to H. Is this normal? Or it's another connectivity issue on the phone itself?
*
Why you want to see 3g? H is faster n better than 3g. I will be most unhappy if I see 3g instead of E, H n H+

You are right
But this time not so crazy n will not be early bird user paying a higher premium for it. Until Note3 comes the Note2 will still be my main phone

BTW:

http://developer.sonymobile.com/2013/04/03...ina-mode-works/

How Sony's Stamina Mode works. Got the link browsing the XZ forum, by psyeo. From my read, it seems to be a sort of baked in DSBS + Greenify.

antt00 nehalem176 your expert comments invited.
antt00 ....ah damn missed the piece/peace... hahaha

Whatever , Sony Stamina mode works and that is important. I don't care about how it does it but it works magnificently. Every day without fail, over 7 to 9 hours overnight , my battery level always stay the same as the last reading , eg I go to bed at 85%, the next morning after 7 hours it stays at 85% ; if it is at 94% , it will remain 94%
NO need any usage of 3rd party apps to control these
Even when you are using it as long ass screen is off, the battery level remains static unchanged

Invest in a good casing for a piece of mind. Safety first!
*
Nothing beats my Melko case ( flip leather) - i have accidentally drop it several times already and the phone remains intact ; only some slight bruises and scratches on the case only. The case clips the phone quite tight. Is worth every sen. I just bought another same case to replace my previous one. Some might say the case is too "old man" like but I love it and I have always buy Melkco flip cases for all my phones - and always same design-type/color each and every time

Buy it from carrymobile.com ( US$32) and delivery in your hands within 10 days. This is real genuine leather unlike those many imitation types ( RM60-80) you can get at lowyat plaza

i guess a good way would have to be a third party app then smile.gif

but then, this does not allow anything other than gsm data (calls + sms) to come through...

sounds like a good trade off when its night time but no so when its the daytime..
*
In Stamina mode, you can set apps eg mail, tweeter feeds notifications, whatsapp , whatever apps you need etc to be in its exception whitelist and you will still get all messages even when phone is idle

looks nice smile.gif wonder if it comes in blue leather

my al-cheapo Nillkin is also unbeatable.. dropped (or rather flew) from my dashboard unto my gear shift then to the car floor at high speed maybe beyond 20 times already. case chipped but phone unscathed

MELKO original sells only 2 types - red, orange, purple, black and a color band type - check their MELKO website
http://www.melkco.com/scripts/main/viewpda-NO71-SS.html
Carrymobile is their designated online reseller

Imitation Melkos you can get many other colors eg Pink, Green, Blue, Brown etc - plenty of such at lowyat plaza

anybody using the Note 2 N7105 LTE model here ??
does it work with our LTE bands ?

it says in wiki that the n7105 uses the LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2600 bands
will it work with Maxis LTE bands since they are using 1800/2600 bands ??

anyone tried ?
and is it worth it to buy the NOTE 2 LTE version although its warranty covered by the shop :S
*
Yes it will work . There are few 7105 users here in this forum
Worth or not is your decision. Important is shop reliability if considering to buy any AP set

All I was updating the ROM list to truncate the version numbers. It seems that makes it a new "selection" in the form.

I'll clear the data shortly.
BETA tongue.gif

A very good effort by you on this
But was surprised at the dismal response from users since so many of the users here uses custom roms
The data would be more meaningful if we can have more contribution from users
Come on guys/gals - give your input to this

Note 2 and Galaxy Mega 6.3
*
A most tempting proposition
Alas only available in Europe by May ; other countries no news yet
A budget phablet , reportedly will be cheaper than even Note 2 and upcoming S4
The 6.3-inch model comes with a 720p display (Samsung lists it only as "HD ') , a 1.7GHz dual-core processor from an unnamed manufacturer, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8 or 16GB of storage. 8 GB storage option - any mistake ??
And no S Pen but comes with Android 4.2 OS
Personally, I don't mind the 6.3 inch size. I can easily fit my Nexus 7 inside my long pants and 3/4 shorts side pockets

Done on my side smile.gif but waiting for DMC3 for either monx or dualnote smile.gif

i feel that dualnote seems to have slightly better battery life but i do not like the bootanimation
*
You can always easily replace the bootanimation.zip file at /system/media with the bootanimation.zip of your choice

Yes yes, will prebook when available.

Also need to ask benny888 where he gets his pants. I'm 5'7" and regular slacks can fit the Note 2, and even my naked Mediapad, so I guess an encased 6.3" Note 3 should fit.
*
I am old guy -lah! i wear those loose fitting baggy like pants. All my pants are bought overseas ( mainly China, Cambodia, Thailand) from the factory itself ( I was in textiles past 30+ years ) . Can never find such baggy like pants here locally.

Just get a debit card. There is no extra charges and is very common nowadays. Just make sure it can be used for online transaction. That day went and change my atm card cos got issue and the banker gave me a debit card instead.  rclxub.gif
*
The bank will change your ATM card to a Debit card and you need to ask the bank to activate it for online transaction
