Just got my hands on one of PcWork's recabled KSC-75 today. Am enjoying the sound so far, the problem is that the phones are sitting rather loose on my ears, I think because my ears are rather small-- just now at LRT station got bumped a bit by someone and the headphone fell off. Any solution besides bending the hooks like a pretzel?
*
u can adjust the clip to become tighter..
just push the clip into the sponge direction.
the clip is flexible to bend. no worry on that.

LOL Nightstalker1993. That was me! Subang Parade's Digital One-- or did you see me in Parkson after that? The amp was a FiiO E5. Small sized chick with a large sized handbag, yes? I was testing out the amp with the KSC-75 after I bought a cheapo 3.5 to 3.5 interconnect and a USB cable (I suspect the shop hammered me on the USB cable price, seriously. Not buying from them again!) to charge the amp with, since I got the KSC-75 and E5 from Darkchaser second hand (third hand in the case of the headphones), and he didn't include the interconnect cable or USB cable. All working fine, and the amp REALLY helps with powering the KSC-75: my current player is Samsung YP-U3, and is ridiculously underpowered, can't power the headphones worth a danged thing; even with amp still needs high volumes.  mad.gif Can't wait till my Sansa Clip+ gets here. Also want to get a custom 3.5-3.5 interconnect, but must wait for later time, since I just plonked RM390 on Edifier C3 and am broke for the next three months.

Pc Bro, sure lifetime warranty? You said it not me! Though am no Leng Lui by any stretch of the definition... thanks for the advice on the headphone clips; though I think it was me not used to putting on the headphones properly. Finally managed to get them on right. LOL.

terradrive: Yeah-- also good luck trying to play anything loud enough to hear on KTM without an amp. Tried that. Not good!

Experience so far with KSC-75 plugged into my laptop's onboard soundcard, Foobar2k (plugins used: ASIO, resampled to 48kHz with ultra mode on, advanced limiter and skip silence), all source files at 192 kbps or better, most being FLAC: Sounds good, about equal to the other set of good cans I own, the Beyerdynamic DT231 in some instances and better in others. Bass is quite ample and clean on listening to Vienna Teng's "Augustine" and some AC/DC and Metallica; however I think the bass has more oomph on the Beyerdynamic. Details are clear listening to Sigur Ros and listening to "Silhouette" from Mike Oldfield's 2008 album Music of the Spheres is a treat as Lang Lang's piano sounds like drops of water falling into a still pool, and each pluck of the guitar on Trace Bundy's "Acoustic Ninja" is as sharply obvious as sand on black paper. Can hear all the various instruments nicely when listening to Trevor Pinnock playing Bach. And Kate Bush sounds very detailed and clear, not at all muddy, all layers coming through. Highs are fantastic on all tracks, especially on Vangelis' "Rachel's Song" from the Blade Runner soundtrack and the Tallis Scholars' "Spem in alium". Vocals on these tracks sound even airier with the Koss. The separation of all the various voices ("Spem" has 40 parts total), the clarity and detail on "Spem" is lovely with the Koss.

Feel: a bit loose on the ears, so I have to keep adjusting. Otherwise it's quite comfortable, though the foam is a little scratchy. Am planning to try and see if i can get some Plantronics leatherette ear cushions and see if it helps any with a little extra bass and maybe more comfort.

Portability: the recabled cables are kinda stiff, but at least they don't get extremely tangled like my other 'phones. XD Otherwise, easy to carry around! Thumbs up to PcWork's superb job with the cabling.

Overall I don't regret plunking RM100 on this KSC75. Worth every sen!
*
RM 100 for the price is quite good. especially new recable ksc75 is RM 160.
from the way you post. you seems really know a lot about headphone. haha.. in fact i am working to find a softer cable solution for ksc75. though there are some alternative cable which is soft. but the sound isn't on par with the current cable i used. =.=
anyway..glad to see girls that are interested in headphone starts to appear up in malaysia. else we this bunch of guys in lyn audiophile audiophile forum / gathering for audiophile sounds like a gay club...... vmad.gif though moniquee is girl. when my attemp to ask her out for audiophile gathering sounds really weired. it's like some weired uncle trying to cheat small girl come out and buaya her.. HAHAHAHA sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif .imagine an audiophile gathering with a bunch of hamsap guy (Example : Enigmatic) and a girl alone.. seems damn weired..

by the way. imho Fio is not really a good amp to push KSC75 according to my personal preference.
try a secret amp / secret amp prototype. then u will probally love ksc75 even more.

QUOTE(ArianneG @ Dec 22 2009, 01:09 AM)
Akabane sensei, looks like it's really clunky, that AD2000-- how can you sleep with them on? For myself, when listening in bed whilst falling asleep, I use speakers.
*
try this. find a small pillow. better rectangular shape.
place it vertically like an | shape.
then sleep on it. the pillow will only support ur head. and doesn't touch headphone.
lol
i always do this with my previous HD580. but now i no longer interested to use headphone while sleep. did once with 650 though. but now most of the time i rely on speaker.

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Dec 22 2009, 03:03 AM)
yeah, in Digital One! I am working there part time in one of the shops. I think you entered, and left. Not too sure as i was serving some other customers that time, but the white-blue cables and the Fiio amp definitely caught my eyes. LOL!

or did u buy the usb cable from my shop? The one directly opposite the escalator. O.o

sorry to say, but everything in my shop is overpriced!

argh! I miss my KSC-75 sad.gif

got it for free from a good friend of mine tongue.gif laugh.gif

left side not working now, wonder if sifu pcwork can revive it? laugh.gif
*
QUOTE(ArianneG @ Dec 22 2009, 10:20 AM)
I think so. Opposite the escalator? You on the lower floor right? The shop next to the place selling all the PC games? I tend to go there often, but the prices are crazy high. Kena hammer already.

PcWork can probably revive it-- but depends what's wrong with it. Someone had this kinda of problem before and asked right here. If cable rosak or contact spoil I think no problem. However if it's a problem with the voice coil or something and you somehow managed to screw it up... no help for it, have to replace already.
*
i can actually repair a voice coil damage ksc75. but it just too "un-economic" for me.

QUOTE(terradrive @ Dec 22 2009, 03:11 AM)
I found out that while the koss is harder to drive, I only need about half the volume on my cheapo creative mp3 player to run it at enough volume level.

Running on louder volumes to drawn out outside noise while on noisy environment listening to this open headphone is a big no no. It's time to invest on IEM if plan to listen on the go.

I didn't listen to my ksc-75 much anymore since after kramer mod it sounded harsh and very bright and trebles sounded artificial now. I haven't compare to unmodded ones atm.
*
after kramer still sound harsh that means ur ksc75 not fully burn in yet.
after burn in. kramer or not the ksc75 shouldn't be harsh.
don't blast the headphone to get it burn faster. u will make the voice coil "metal stress" and can cause bass to diminish.
run it with low volume for at least 100 hours and see what will happen. =)

even my setup currently cost me about RM 16K including all tuning feets.
still it's not even consider as "entry level of high end"
usually they refer entry level of high end as somethings cost RM 50-80K whole set (speaker, amp, source, cable)
mid end = RM 100K-300K
high end. 300K and above.
super high end 800K and above.

it might sound hard to believe. but it's very true.
try go into a hifi shop and tell him u want a high end setup. see how much price he quote u. lol.. (real hifi shop. not those sellings some sony and philips or some china made products)
that's why. better be careful when using the words "high end"

typo. lol hifi shop selling sony.. sure cari pasal.. lol.

i do need to stand by several pcs of the ksc75 if i were accepting recable.
else if i screw up the driver. how am i going to give back the owner?
lol
i always has 3-5 unit of ksc75 standby on hand.
but due to i wanna purchase a nikon camera. so i only remain 1 brand new ksc75 on hand. and that's not for sell. lol for stand by purposes in case i am that bad i screw up ppl's ksc75. just in case.
sometime luck isn't good.

so in the other way of speaking. pls do make 1 bulk success.
those remaning unit i can try to swallow if possible.
hopefully price is ok.
