Ep01's out by a.f.k.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya aka Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is the best show of the year so far. Even though it hasn't really started yet.



The first episode was just simply made of superior, win, parody and bouncing bunny girl.

If you haven't been to /a/ lately (or you've been to, but missed the superior threads discussing about the mind-numbing awesomeness of it), here's what happened in ep01:

Bunny girl who's actually a superhero protecting over a boy who's an ESP-er from being captured by an alien who intends to use his super powah abilities to destroy earth. But to get through her daily life as a regular citizen, bunny girl gets a job as promoter:


Eventually, she meets the ebil alien girl from outer space, and fought her. The CG animation used for the action scene was made of SUPERIOR and AWESOME! In fact, it's so superior, that I can't even let you see them directly. Go download the episode and watch it for yourself. The alien girl then thought up a perfect plan, and went in disguise as a student at the same school as the ESP-er boy. Bunny girl followed suit. Then SUSPENCE! D:, as a love triangle is formed between them three.

Regardless, this is a SUPERIOR ANIMU YOU MUST DOWNLOAD! DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD !!! It's awesomeness in it's purest form.

I dont get the whole bunny girl thing? So corny! i was like.. what the hell this anime about! It is so funny.... hahaha... damn stupid.. but funny.. i can still imagine how they fight with each other.. the beam...

Then only the last part showing it was made by a student..

since infested is saying this is a must see, then im definitely gonna get this..

It's a parody of various other genre of animu out there (the typical boy with SUPA POWAH! the typical magical girl who saves him from ebil, the ridiculous clothing they wear, the plotholes, the storyline that doesn't make any sense, weird dialogues that doesn't make any sense, blatant fanservice etc.)

Regardless, the production value of this is high, IMO. Just look at the ED footage, their dancing movements are fluid, very fluid.

Hmm. Most of infested's threads are either on weird stuffs with fancy names or, fancy stuff with weird names.. interesting.

....no. It's the epitome of awesome and superiorness, on par with Pani Poni Dash. Just watch it already (same for GaoGaiGar)

Just watch it. Part of the enjoyment of this superior animu lies in realising what the whole episode 1 is actually about during the last 4 minute's footage. It pokes fun at various other genre of animu, and it's particulary refreshing if you've watched crap animu like GSD, Shuffle, that-stupid-animu-with-ROAR-thing, Suzuka or Mai Otome recently.

I was watching the first episode and thought. "WTF IS THIS STUPID CRAP!" I was at the brink of deleting it off the harddrive and thought "People that enjoy crap like this are retards!" So with the volume turned to the minimum (to avoid drawing unwanted attention on something I wouldn't want to be caught watching.) I tolerated the entire episode, hoping that the magical girl was just a prologue/sidestory.

and then, after the ending credits, the screen widened and brightened, and the real goods reveals itself. I slapped my forehead and gave myself a good laugh. It was definitely the best 'April fools' I've ever received!

is ep1 different from ep00, I mean since ep00 is about a movie they made, so ep1 should be the real pilot episode right?

Well i think the ending preview is kinda confusing , Kyon said : Next, episode 2 "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I" , erm i guess its episode 2 and episode 00 = episode 1

i am lovin every bit of this anime, from the cuteness of the characters to the humor it presents. Must have more of Haruhi...

Well...IMO I think Yuki just used 'ventriloquism' as an excuse to cover up the secret of the talking cat. Because...well....THE CAT'S MOUTH MOVED WHEN IT TALKED. Add in that Kyon kept telling the cat to stop talking, clearly shown that he knew something all along.

the animators for this anime are responsible for AIR. so expect some nice visuals. dun let the 1st episode fool u.

I like the "voice" actor. Most of the fun part is from him. Wihout him, it would be less funny.
