Hi, I'm planning to get either exora bold standard/premium or the latest alza advance. I would really appreciate some views and advice on this. Thanking in advance. Sorry for any offence.
*
Here are my reasons for choosing the Exora Bold CFE
Pros:
1. CFE engine is superb. Powerful for an MPV and pickup is good.
2. Large boot space and versatile seat folding layout
3. Air-cond on the Exora Bold is great (as with all Protons)
4. Good handling for an MPV
5. Last row seats space is pretty good, and can accommodate me just right (I'm 170cm+)

Cons:
1. Interior build quality is alright, although choice of materials is not that good (hard plastics everywhere)
2. The fan for the turbo engine is super loud and noisy, although this is really just me nitpicking laugh.gif

I have this car for almost a month now. Very very satisfied with it so far.
The practicality and space has been very useful for me, and the engine performance has been superb.

Power is always there whenever I demand for it icon_rolleyes.gif

congrats n glad to hear that. am in the  market for an mpv as well, however having to expect some issues which are bound to occur due to QC, i wonder how are the exora owner's experience in the service centers? or are the service center experience an added headache??
*
I can't comment on service centre experience yet as I only just had my first 1000km service laugh.gif

saw the exora at the showroom. impressive. wonder what is the maintenance like for exora ? fc? felt like the accelerator needed some pressing before it started to move. heavy? no? normal?
*
Indeed the accelerator needs some pressing before the power kicks in. But I assure you, the needle hovering at 2k RPM is all you need.
205Nm of torque right from 2k RPM when the turbo kicks in, is enough power to propel the 1500kg MPV ahead of other vehicles brows.gif

FC so far for me is between 8-9km/L. My unit is only less than 1 month old so far, so there might be a chance that the FC has yet to stabilise wink.gif

*
10-11km/L = 100% highway?

My 8-9km/L = 100% city laugh.gif

Hi all, sadly there is no discount for EB 2014 premium but the specs are exactly like 2013 except the Turbo emblem. But after further thinking it is fair since 2013 suffer depreciation. Need all the exorian expert advise... Should i buy it now or wait for the hybrid exora that will be launched end of this year?
*
hybrid exora? shocking.gif

Tried 170kmh for a short while on the highway just now.
There's definitely some wind noise and tire noise..
But surprisingly very stable shocking.gif

I actually really like the looks of the Preve's steering wheel. Why didn't proton put the emblem on the steering wheel of the Exora doh.gif

anyone struggling between toyota avanza and proton eb? peace of mind, service, engine stability, defects?
*
I was previously considering between avanza, grand livina, and exora.

Ended up going for the Exora after almost a year of consideration, just got my Exora a month ago.

So far so good, overall a very good MPV especially when considering the price thumbup.gif

I was in your shoe 3 months ago. Contemplating between EB, Avanza, Alza and GL.
In term of specs, EB wins them all hands down.
The only down side? Their brand legacy. Lots of bad perception. As such, I couldn't ask anyone around me for opinion. Anytime they hear about Proton, the review is YUCK even though they never seen nor ride in one.

Hence, I rely on this forum and checked on this topic a lot.

My 2 cents.
Pro:
Car is powerful, affordable, superior specs.

Con:
It's a Proton. Earlier version was problematic causing brand perception issue (no problem for me).

Long story short, I'm now a very proud owner of EB. Bought it in Dec 2013 from Vincent818. Among the many car dealers in town, he offered me the best discount. He doesn't overpromise what he can't delivers. A straight shooter.
*
lol that's my thread, and I actually followed this thread alot laugh.gif https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2556542/all

totally agree with your opinions too whistling.gif

I too got my unit from vincent818, another thumbs up for him. best deal in town thumbup.gif

The expression of drivers of Alphard and Estima when I did the WTF high speed overtake climbing up to Cameroon Highlands was priceless.... (note: that time only a humble CPS version of Exora with 5 adults).

thanks guys for your kind reply, yeap most people around me cant see past the badge etc etc, but they are not owners of EB as well, so i refer to LYN as my reference too. haha vincent, do u do sales across south china sea in Kuching Sarawak?  blink.gif  thumbup.gif

I too in the beginning, wasn't open to Proton/Perodua when looking for an MPV.

What changed my perception of the Exora was when I test drove a unit and felt the car for myself (it belonged to a friend of my dad).

Indeed their tagline "You'll be amazed" proved to me to be true brows.gif

But idk the ecu what version now in the eb sweat.gif .after reading that I think it's the 13.2.
*
Can I just go to the Proton SC and ask for the ECU update?
