There are 2 Panasonic lenses that are problematic with Olympus camera.

1. 20mm f1.7 - slower focusing and banding with EM5.
2. 7-14mm f4 - purple blurb. Have something to do with reflection of the sensor.

[Using them on Panasonic cameras has no problem]

You see these lenses are 2 of the best from Panasonic and it is a disappointment to Olympus users. There is no similar offering from Olympus because when it come to lenses, Panasonic and Olympus collaborate more than they compete.

On the other hand, Panasonic users are jealous with many Olympus lenses but they don't have image stabilization. No Panasonic users will want to spend so much money on the 45-150mm f2.8 without the IS. And this is very sad.

We can expect newer Panasonic cameras to have IBIS, but their technology is very poor right now as seen in GX7. How long does it need to take to improve it to usable level? We don't know.

There is no perfect camera, perfect lenses and perfect system. But we can get "good enough" camera, "good enough" lenses and a "good enough" system. And I believe when we found that, we can stop (or at least slow down) our GAS. [OK, I am seriously waiting for the Panasonic Leica 42.5mm f1.2.]

Do you use 1 focus point or do you let the camera choose the focus point for you?

Pricing of the new O-MD E-M10 is very very aggressive! Far cheaper than the EP5 but gives you significantly more (with EVF, pop up flash, etc)!

Luckily for Malaysian we are buying at very low price already, it the Americans and Europeans that are paying more.
As usual, we should be able to get lower than the suggested retail price. Bargain bargain bargain. However, ringgit is very weak last few weeks.

How bout checking out the Lumix  GX7? I don't think there that many G6 around in the market left :S and the GX7 new sensor really does an amazing job!

it is small, cheaper and fun lens anyway.
It is new product launch by Olympus last month. price will be expect RM299-349, coming next month.
It is a lens itself and also can be use as body cap.

if video handheld really is a die die for u then EM5 seem better choice with 5 axis (em10 only 3 axis) IS. Plus the image will optimized when u using zuiko lenses. Of course if u plan to only get Pana lens, then Pana lens is built in IS for the GX7.

If you're not serious video shooter, EM5 video output should be more or less enough for average user.
