From a comment in the article noobi3 provided:

As I gaze into my Crystal Ball and seeing Scott Stein from Cnet, Gruber fro Daring Fireball, Nily Patel of The Verge, Jonathan Geller of BGR in the not so distant future.

" Apple has introduced the stylus for the iPad, it's absolutley magical, Apple has again showed the tech world what innovation is all about. They took what was a dead product and breathed life into it and again has created a new market only Apple could do. This is without a doubt the MUST HAVE accessory to own. Apple has weilded it's magic once again. Watch the copycat's come out with their own versions soon. Apple again is leading the world with their innovation"

My crystal ball shows Apple suing Samsung , again , for using Stylus on their Note series . Let me share with u a story , a true story that happened recently , off topic completely . A few friends and I was having a yam char session and we were talking about everything but work as usual . Before that , it's something off topic . If u guys wanna read , go ahead but nothing related to Note2 actually .

Bottom line is Apple will patent anything they use for their product or thinking of using even if it's something free for everyone to use and benefit the society . Recently , as in a few months back , Apple is applying patent for wireless charging as well for their ipods and iphones . If it gets approved , we can forget about wireless charging on our devices unless we use an Apple . Source

I have like 3.8GB of songs which I stored in my sd card . If it's fat32 , I cant seem to detect it in my phone for ringtones . But for ExFat , there is not a problem .
My question is limitation for fat32 is 4Gb correct ? Is it per file or per folder as I stored my songs in my media > ringtones . But then i feel funny not being able to have it detected even it's not even 4Gb

4 GB per file
And I dont remember having such a problem in my previous Note 2 using fat32 class 10 64 GB card initially. Subsequently change to exfat format for swapping memory purposes
*
I was trying out NEAK kernel so i formatted my sd to fat32 . Seem to face this problem only then . Haven't try to use fat32 ready sd card . I find it funny as well but it's kinda impossible for the phone not to detect it under ringtones after leaving the phone thru out the night , like 7 hours long .

Try "rescan media root" from market and force media scan. Also make sure no .nomedia file.
*
Done that , also fail to detect it . So go back to persues , formatted back to exfat , copy the same file into the sd card and it's detected in least then 5 mins after boot up ......... I also cant understand the reason for it .

So if we want to hide our files on Note 2 just use a fat32 card.  drool.gif

Yeah i confirm media is not detected on my sdcard fat 32 also.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Ah ,Note 2 problem ? . I have no problem using the media > ringtones on my 32G for my SGS2 . rclxub.gif

Could be JB. Have you tried with JB Samsung rom on S2?
*
Nope , running on ICS for Dorimanx kernel since it got BLN support . Haven't tested on JB with it yet . But i remember i was able to select ringtones from my file as well when I was running Helly_Bean and that was 4.2.2 ....... I formatted my sd to fat32 to try out CarbonRom with NEAK AOSP kernel . After a while , I flash back to Du@lnote + persues and went to sleep but couldnt detect still in the morning . Nvm , when i free go try out again .

As uncle has said, it is 4Gb per file. I don't remember if there is some limit in the allocation table itself for total number of files it can count ... maybe you have too many files? whistling.gif I do recall back in the bad old days that FAT16 had a limit of 512 entries in the root directory. Don't know if something similar applies to FAT32.
Eh, what about the .nomedia file? I thought you use this in a subdirectory to hide it from scanning right? Or did you mean that he shouldn't be having a .nomedia file hiding his stuff from the scanner?

Gawd just woke up........  rclxub.gif

Couldn't be bro . Have the same number of songs in my SGS2 on a 32G card, a duplicate for the same folder and it's detected . Anyway , since it's back to ExFat and it's detected , cant be bother . Will look into it when i have some time to kill .

it's hard to judge based on just SOT bro . If u r using apps that requires heavy use of processor + GPU for example playing games like Wild Blood or NFS , your SOT time will definitely be different then those who used it for normally like social network apps .

More activity around the device-du-jour

http://www.theverge.com/2013/3/13/4102174/...detailed-images

The article itself is uninteresting. Please read the comments. As of right now, there are 547 comments. Many of them are fairly long writeups, and a provide a good indication of what people are thinking about Samsung's actions.

Some comments:
Oh and why does it matter what the phone looks like when almost everyone puts a case on them! Honestly! Such a materialistic world.

There is no difference in the quality of plastic Samsung uses and the Nokia/HTC ones. You just think they’re more premium just because you think the design is better. Flexible does not mean cheap.

Samsung has learned a lesson, and it’s to continue what they have been doing as it is clearly paying off. The HTC One might look great, but the SGSIV is going to outsell it 10:1 because people will recognise it when they see one.

All these years you hear Android fans mocking Apple’s designs and saying no innovation as they feel it hasn’t changed (which is completely wrong, but I won’t go there). Now Samsung does it and the phone looks exactly the same the only difference is Apple can actually make hardware and Samsung clearly can’t. Plastic (or Polycarbonate which is just a prettier word than plastic) is not innovation. Neither is simply making the display larger because you can’t fit the components in the size of the current phone.
So now using aluminum or glass is innovation? Gee, I didn’t know people only cared about which beer container material (plastic, aluminum, or glass) was used to determine innovativeness. FYI, Apple made their display bigger and the phone itself taller with the iPhone 5. Hypocrisy right there.
Aluminum doesn’t make the phone inherently better. Harder to make != innovation. I could invent a less efficient heat engine and that would not be innovation.
Uh… the design did change. Different shape, home button, camera, sides, size, thickness, etc. Plastic is not a poor material. There’s nothing to say it’s better or worse overall than glass or aluminum.
I didn’t say that the S4 was an innovative revolution and neither did I consider the iPhone 5 the pinnacle of innovation.
Only according to Apple’s press releases does 1080p not matter. Basically every review site on the planet has praised 1080p as better than the usual 300 ppi displays.
Just look around at the numerous comments, even the Samsung fans able to admit that the design has remained largely the same – the defence being that they like it.
=======
None of the comments are mine. I just posted them or excerpts from them for your reading pleasure. Please don't complain TL:DR
*
Er ..... i think u want to post this in Galaxy S4 thread right bro ? Since there's a argument over designs in there now .

why put so many guai lou on the wallpaper of the S4? i don't want some random kid / adult face / body / limbs appearing on my screen

put KAV actresses then its a different ballpark lar...

prefer S3 and N2 with their nature inspired blue wallpapers speaking of which

i am using htc one wallpapers LOL

i seriously dun understand this phone bashing thingy...

i like nasi lemak. some people like roti canai. some people like wantan mee. so what... food is to be eaten. phone is to be used.

people like wantan mee... its their business. it's their right. they wanna pay rm100 for noodles. it is up to them. some people say maggi is cheaper. rm0.50 only. so be it la. different people... got different taste. got different wallet capability.

in the end... all men are brothers. all women are sisters. but all men and women are not CLONES. we dun think and do the same think. we should be proud to be different.

it's friday. we should be happy and not get angry over a phone.
*
Nasi Lemak these days not cheap . Go to Madam Kwan and try a "simple" nasi lemak with chicken . Check out the bill later ? icon_rolleyes.gif

Seriously ? Having arguments on build quality ? Does it actually make an difference if we r gonna put a case on to it ? I rather manufacturers see the Android line as a profit opportunity and start making more cases so we have more choices for Android phones beside crapple like Element case . As for phone , I dont care if its plastic or unibody or alloy , I cant afford carbon fibre phones if any exist but I have 2 requirements , big screen and light ..... Plastic gets the job done nicely .
