How can I tell if this is damage by lighting or is a component defect?
*

it very difficult to justify, surge may damage component...
if there have the defects, should realized it since the 1st week...

assuming you installed Cal-Lab 1 minutes ago, and lightning striked Cal-Lab after 1 minute and your equipments under working condition... we say that Cal-Lab failed to function after 1 minute usage and claim for 1 to 1 replacement, hence it working to protect your equipments even though u used it 1 minute, so we cant say that it was component defect...

is it working good with ur spare SKPXDSL? if u want to check ur suspected damaged SKPXDSL, u can plug a normal telephone onto it and check whether u can heard to dial tone without buzz background noise at all...

can pm me best price for STV9511 and STV9511-MS1+3.

and what is the maximum damage coverage RM?
*

STV9511 RM79 for market price...

the maximum damage coverage was RM5000 and renew the insurance RM10 yearly... but it only apply for those proper setup with correct models... if those users used wrong model and did the wrong installation, insurance company wont agree it as the failure of product because the failure lead by human errors which no within the control...

but if u done the setup correctly and followed my recommendation, 99.9% will safe even though without insurance... smile.gif

i'm currently using an IT pack bought many years ago but the phone line sockets don't work anymore (think it got fried somehow)

is it possible to repair the phone line sockets?

also interested in the "Cleaner power supply to HIFI/PLC" - what does it do?
*

u can send in your damaged unit to show room at bandar utama, centerpoint for one-off replacement & no waiting time for restoration... the total damage is RM25 for immediate replacement... recommended do a phone call to show room for ensure the availability of their IT pack which used for restoration before u go there... smile.gif

the item that u mention used for eliminate / reduce the noises come from power cable and feed into ur equipments which may create the buzz sound during the operation...

hi,

my query is not for a modem or computer but for an alarm system. what i want to do is connect the phone line to the alarm system so that if it is tripped when i am away from home, i will be notified via phone call.

the problem is lightning which could easily destroy the alarm console. what would be best item to reduce the chances of this happening? its just a direct connection from phone line to alarm console (won't be using the phone line for anything else).

thank you
*

u can use SCSF9512 if u experienced in simple wiring jobs...
the power cable u need to cut and connect into the units...

for the tel line, it come with RJ11 female socket...
i can help you to the crimp 2 of RJ11 male connector so u can connect the wire to telekom and to alarm system... smile.gif

modem router, desktop & laptop
SF9512DSL, SF9812DSL or SF9512DSL MS2+ (if no telephone nearby and no PC to PC networking)

TV, home theater
STV9511 (if dont have astro connection involved and no telephone nearby)

Hi, i need some help here....

i have 5 units of SFTV9622-FC-MC3+2, now use for home PC/ office and i just found out that the tel-line not support DSL doh.gif
WTA possible for me to add sp9201 with this 9622??  notworthy.gif
*

yup... SFTV9622FC MS2+3 only for telephone, dial up modem and faxing...
u can add SP9201DSL as a combination of SFTV9622FC MS2+3... no harm to doing so... smile.gif
If u have telephone / ADSL splitter filter nearby ur setup, u need SP9201DAF to replace ur ordinary ADSL splitter filter

Wahhh...bro...i kena lightning strike today!!! Main switch jumped. Check all my equipment protected by Cal Lab...including a digital piano, LCD TV, PC etc.... all worked fine!

The only problem is the IT pack phone line connection got fried and it is now unable to connect to my modem. My modem still ok as a direct line connection still works. Another anamoly is one of my PC's RAID 1 drive goes into 'Initialization stage' and still running...

I'll be contacting u on how to get repair my IT Pack...man, i'm sure glad i spent the RM 2xx on the CAL LAB!!!!
*

'Initialization stage' ? means the your harddisk still working fine?

Anyway, happy to heard that you satisfied Cal-Lab products... smile.gif

Hi bro, need help in choosing which Cal-lab products to buy..

Site 1: Phone line, DECT phone(3pin adapter), and wireless modem/router(3pin adapter).

Site 2: TV, PC, game console and speakers (won't power on all at the same time, so prefer individual on/off switches for all)
*

Site 1: is the wireless modem router connected with any wired lan cable? do u have PC to PC networking?

Site 2: is your PC / game console connected with wired lan cable? is ur TV connected to any antenna or astro connection?
