recommended to protect power and tel line at the same time...
u can ignore the insurance if ur installation was correct and used correct model for correct equipments...

what is ur complete equipments list for ur PC? 1 set of modem and 1 set of PC? no other PCs involved in ur networking? have any telephone near by ur PC?

u just need MDSC0039 and SP9201DAF
but the another issues are the another PCs that connected to ur switch...
there may have possibilities that surge brought from another PCs going into ur switch and damage ur PC as well...

that one i can assure u it wont damage my PC laugh.gif

since i have 2 4-gang sockets, do have to buy 2 MDSC0039?or is there any other suggestions?
*

u can get 2 unit of MDSC0039 as well if both of the power sockets located at different places...
and the SP9201DAF will replace the ADSL splitter filter... smile.gif

FYI, cal-lab wont responsible if any damage found for wired cable to another PCs

Well, from the diagram I read,he got 2 islands right now , for complete protection for this diagram,he need SLAN1236 from that switch to his main pc inside the same island and 8 x SLAN1236 for that outgoing source. Plus somemore not his full diagram,I feel something missing in the diagram.
*

i think his PC should located together with switch...
and refer to post 569 and 572 that he agreed no to protect other PCs which connected to switch...
cal-lab wont responsible for any damage that surge may come from other PCs as i PMed to him earlier...

Do you have a few 3 way pin socket with DSL telephone slot ? Please give me quotation and picture kay.

How is the performance or value-wise compare to Belkin ones ?
*
u required IT pack, it have 4*3pin & 3*2pin power socket and support for ADSL connection

about the performance, i dont talk about the belkin, just talk about the cal-lab...
Cal-Lab have US Patent, China Patent and Malaysia Patent... FYI, US Patent very difficult to obtain because US very strict to understand & explain how it work and why it different with other lightning protector... In another words, if the person who owned the Patent, only he/she allowed to use the technology on his/her product, and other competitors no allowed to use the technology since Patented... so belkin doesnt using Isolator method, i think remain as Arrestor method... smile.gif

FYI, u can refer to Post #1... even video clips smile.gif included there and better understanding...

How much it roughly it will cost ?
*

RM123, no yet discount for u...
cheaper and better technology than belkin...
since is cheap, cal-lab no able to absorb all the damage found on cal-lab units...
there have replacement cost to change working units on the spot...

What do you mean by cal-lab no able to absorb all damage found on cab-lab units and have replacement cost to change working units ?

Do you mean basically there's charges for under warranty product ?
*

Cal-Lab is lifetime service warranty...

even u used Cal-Lab for 10 year and damaged... the maximum cost u have to pay just RM25 to get a working unit again... rather than u pay another RM100+ for new units again... but if unlucky that lightning strike once u installed (even used few minutes only) and damaged, u have to pay for the replacement cost also... at least cal-lab confirmed 99.9% equipments will be safe (if proper installation)... so there have the issue between RM25 VS value of your equipments... which u prefer? smile.gif

i admit that belkin offer 1 year(i think so) FOC warranty if any damaged found... if used more than 1 year and damaged? have to buy new set of belkin which cost u RM100... can belkin 99.9% guarantee equipments un-harm? only the users know... Cal-Lab's performance? check my thread or PM to the forumers who bought Cal-Lab from me... u can get the real result rather than Cal-Lab appraise themselves to mention how good is their products... smile.gif

Need protection for my modem. My area tend to have lighthing strike
through the phone line. sad.gif
*

recommended to get the power source protection as well... the surge may come from power line and strike ur modem even though ur modem tel line protected by cal-lab... in facts we have few cases that power line can bring surge...

FYI, SP9201DAF act as ADSL splitter filter...

QUOTE(jimmy_none @ Sep 28 2008, 10:26 PM)
i read the brochures..some stated you need to ground it...but some is not mention if it that particular device you need to ground it? what is the diff?
*

the models required to be ground are SP9201DSL, SP9210DAF, MD-FC, MD-BNC, MDTV9922, etc which doesnt come with power source protection and no able to isolate the surge into earth... if the models come with power source protection and the surge able to isolate thru the power cable and going into earth... that the reasons are recommended to ground the grounding wire (if any) into any earth point or 3pin power socket's earth pin, otherwise the isolated surge no where to go and cal-lab unit chosen self-destruct to protect equipments effectively

SP9201DSL, Protect:T -> RRP:RM29, No Discount (Compatible with ADSL2 connection) VS SP9201DAF, Protect:T -> RRP:RM43, 10%off, Now:RM39 (Compatible with ADSL2 connection)

What is the different with this two? The cons and pros?
*

performance are same, only used for different usage...
SP9201DSL: for modem only (NOT for telephone usage)
SP9201DAF: for modem and telephone (ADSL Spliter Filter)

The rest of the pc is wireless.

i recommend the combination of MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF will be the best if ur modem and telephone located at the same island... smile.gif

I just need something simple, just to protect the modem from the telephone line. Need something between my modem and the main telephone cable. What would you recommend?

TQ
*

but may i know ur equipments within ur networking? maybe have few PCs connected by wired lan cable?
do u have telephone nearby ur equipments?

if ur area prone lightning, i recommended SF9812DSL that will the convenient to do replacement and cheap replacement cost if u only have 1 set PC and 1 modem within ur networking... smile.gif
