dear topic starter,

i wanna ask sth about the CLLI setup.

let say my room has 2 wall power points, powerpoint A and powerpoint B.

and assume the setup is as below:
powerpoint A --- CLLI --- DVD player
powerpoint B --- TV
(of course the DVD player is linked to the tv via video & audio cables)

if the voltage surge occur my TV, will the DVD player be protected?

can i have extension plug plugged to the output of the CLLI? (so that i can protect many devices under the CLLI)

is the powerpoint A & B located side by side only?
if u can connect both equipments under the same power point A/B, u can use a single power protection on same power point to protect both equipments...

Cal-lab allow to plug 3 way multisocket & extension socket as long as no over the maximum power consumption of cal-lab and the extension cable wasn't excessive extended cable to another location...

Hi, i'm finding a SM type surge protector. Well, my condition is below:

I'm building electronics myself (amplifier, etc), last time when I successfully get my amplifier to work, I turn off my toilet bulb (line fluctuation), then my amplifier also got fried.

Any suggestion for me ? Please offer me a range of products ^^
Please and Thank You !

Edit : I found about this another page of yours. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/489172
Is it more suitable for me ?

TS came to my house to help me with the installation of the lightning isolators.

Very good service, very informative and helpful. Explained everything to me in detailed and am very satisfied with his service. biggrin.gif

Hopefully Cal-Lab will be able to solve my lightning problems from now on. Thank you very much! smile.gif

Typical is this : http://www.brickwall.com/

Well.... its rare, but maybe the electrical setting in apartment is not good. It obvious voltage fluctuate when the bulb switches. Even few of my commercial amplifier also have some noise when it switches. (my amp normally too, but last time maybe just over the limit)

Edit : As i'm planning on getting NILI9920FcuHIFI, it 'should' filter those noise which is not AC main (240/230V 50Hz) ? I suppose it would help the situation i'm in ? Will it be immune to voltage fluctuation ?(like my case)

NILIcuGBH only designed to isolate the noise come from TNB sources (240/230V 50Hz) but no able to stabilize the voltage fluctuation...
if u want to stabilize the voltage fluctuation, i suggest go for industrial type / audio system voltage stabilizer instead rather than go for common automatic voltage stabilizer...

Well.... the fluctuation I have here is not big anyway (its not a big motor, big spotlight), so I suppose those will regard as small fluctuation, which appears as AC noise. (I'm not looking for voltage stabiliser anyway, that way off my chart.)

The noise i'm regarding is this as attachement. Its from "UNDERSTANDING, FINDING, & ELIMINATING GROUND LOOPS IN AUDIO & VIDEO SYSTEMS" from Bill Whitlock

Could I get the full spec of NILI9920FcuHIFI ? Some figure how much nosie it filter, what range of noise it filters, etc. Like to have more information about it,(something like testing certificate/procedure) as i'm more technical person ^^, sorry for those incovenient. Please and Thank You.

I'm honestly interested in CAL-LAC lightning isolator products. (hope it worth proud as MALAYSIA product)

hi gkl83,

do you do earthing for the whole house?
if not can recommended any specialist?

i contacted lps, they do not do earthing and i cannot do LPS system since the house reading is 27ohms.

contacted a few but prices is either too high or i doubt their professionalism/skills.

where is your shop? I am considering getting a few a cal-lab items for my phone line and pcs.
recently lightning destroyed my alram an cctv , electricians believed the lightning came in thru the maxis fixed line coz the cable was dead and blacken.

seriously need help here. i prefer to fix and main point instead of every siingle power point..

Cal-Lab doesn't provide wiring services for your earth cable but only lightning protector...

Do you mind to provide me the complete list of your equipments which interconnected in between which u may tended to protect and update me any other external sources (TNB, TM, aerial antena, astro dish, etc) connected to your equipments...

Hi gkl83,

thanks for the reply.

here are the main items.

the important interconnected items are cctv set, house alarm, modem, wifi router, 2 PCs and 2 tvs. currently all sharing 1 'gold' coloured belking extension power socket.

diff separate locations : refrigerator, washing machine, tv and etc...1 table fan is switched on 24/7...fyi my timer unit ( located at back yard was fried during a thunderstorm )..in addition, i did plaster ceiling for my car porch and cctv guy found out there is electricity current running through the ceiling's aliminium frame but they were not able to locate the source. apart from dismantling the new plaster ceiling to check, there is no other way ( am hesitant to do so coz it is not cheap to redo ).

I want to do earthing bcoz it will solve my "power tripping" problem.

LPS at main power box ( this is considered TNB ? ) / (Cal-Lab and/or belkin to protect specific items ). I do not use the external antenna, but used the internal portable unit instead.

Main problem causing all the problem is the poor earthing...so, I need a reliable earthing specialist..

so you means "cctv set, house alarm, modem, wifi router, 2 PCs and 2 tvs" located side by side and together within the same room? are u using unifi or streamyx? do you have any telephone nearby ur setup as mentioned?

for those standalone equipments (fridge, washing machine, lamp, etc), you need separate models for each equipments to ensure the protection level...

i can try to check with cal-lab whether they have any contacts of contractor for earthing...
