Yeah I'm standing the same side as you too.

Kuching and Ipoh has same importance as major cities in Malaysia if not close to what the Klang Valley is in Malaysia.

In the middle of Kuching areas like Plaza Merdeka already got UniFi?

Why I am expressing my dissatisfaction here is because in Ipoh here even in the middle of the city where the country's best performing UTC, we still don't have UniFi available for public until today after close to 6 years since UniFi launched.

While I still see smaller cities/towns like Miri, Sandakan, Bintulu already getting covered.

How does TM run their planning division?
*
because got many industry there? im not sure

and miri is not the old miri town anymore, it's a speed growing city now

Ipoh's city population is bigger than Kuching.

It is more than twice of Miri.

but I read somewhere that some places unifi coverage stop expanding for a reason

My place no unifi

Only full of 1 mbps user, 4Mbps here is really limited, and only one housing area has 8Mbps

Really hope UniFi will come to our place, but very likely not gonna happen until other major city and towns are covered

Come on TM, we need better speed, 4mbps no longer enough for today needs

Blue cable  hmm.gif
Unifi is using fibre cable, fibre cable should be look like whole black with yellow color lining
Maybe TM install for other thing
*
yeah fiber cable should be black yellow stripped,

i think the blue cable he said actually is the hard cable that's tool for use to pulling cable thru manholes

they need to push and pull with the blue hard cable thru underground man hole first to other side and then tie with fiber cable to pull it back again

it's like hard thick plastic line, easier to push thru tunnels, fiber cable more soft and flexible, cannot push, so need this blue cable to help pulling

the inside premise standard installation

does that mean they have to pull cable to near your hdtv?

cos house design, very likely the place their standard installation for outside will be quite far away from living room

It should, its connected to an ethernet port right?
*
i thought it has to be connected to the specified lan port on the router which is vlan tagged

so iptv -> power ethernet -> powerline -> power ethernet 2 -> router specified port ?

just letting u guys know

if you are using 30Mbps unifi, internet speed may slightly slower thru your WIFI if ur signal is below 40%

you may not get full 30Mbps if you are on WIFI, unless u get better signal strength

or you should consider add wifi extender or change to own better unifi supported router with better wifi such as 5Ghz Wifi or Wireless AC

too many neighbor WIFI nearby may also cause interference, makes your wifi unstable due to too crowd channels are being used at the same time.

to avoid that, use Wireless N or AC at 5Ghz, because not many ppl using 5Ghz, most ppl are still using 2.4Ghz Wireless A/B/G/N

recommend upgrade to Dual Band Wireless N/AC 5Ghz, dual band still got backward compatibility for 2.4Ghz only wifi devices, they have separate wireless network 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz

most of decent mobile devices nowadays already support 5Ghz, older one like Galaxy Note 2 already support

Dang. Not sure if my parents is surfing / youtubing when I do speed test remotely. But anyways, thanks for your head up. Going back to test again tonight with direct LAN connection to see how it goes. Am using Asus RTN66U.

Edit: Whats your IP range bro? My has been changed from 1.xx something to 118.xx since last night.
*
it could be the wifi connection slightly slow down ur 30Mbps possible speed depend on the wifi signal strength you have now,

standard 2.4Ghz Wireless N will have huge speed drop vs wireless signal, if u have 40% or below, u might not get full 30Mbps,

normally this was not an issue because our internet are less than 25Mbps, now we have 30Mbps or above, so we can see the wifi's slow issue now biggrin.gif

thats why TM recommends u to use LAN cable connection to do speedtest

to have more accurate speedtest, use LAN cable connection or make sure ur wifi signal at least above 50-60%

also take note that if u got many neighbors wifi really near to you, it can cause interference to ur wifi too, due to crowd wifi channels
