Good news, for those who are living in Taman Bukit Saujana, 88400 Likas KK here. I was just went back to my home just now and saw a TM technician was pulling a fiber optic cable through the behind of my house. They just hang the fiber optic cable on the pole, another technician was pulling the cable at another side. Confirmed is fiber optic cable with its yellow-black stripe. Sorry for my poor camera, I don't dare to walk forward there to take camera since the technician was working at there.

I was reported once before to MCMC for Unifi coverage at last year December. TM was also called me and apology for Unifi unavailability at my house area at last time. I really can't imagine how soon they take action to install fiber optic cable at my house area now. Same like last year when I report Unifi unavailability at Sandakan. I was last reported to MCMC with my Mile 5 Taman Utama Sandakan address. Soon, they are now already installed fiber optic cable mostly at Mile 5 area.

TM only install the fiber optic cable base on demand just what I read from the posts above. They won't simply install the cable unless there have someone stand out to complaint. The most effective way to request for Unifi coverage at your home area is to report your Unifi demand directly to MCMC. They will pass your complaint to TM after a week and TM will reply for your complaint within a month.

You can try to report your difficulty to MCMC if you really want to use Unifi at your home.

Another good news for those who are living in Taman Aman/Taman Bunga Raja, Sri Borneo, Iramanis, Bukit Saujana KK Likas/Kelombong area.
I saw 2 TM pondok were set up for registration near my house at outside there. I go forward and ask the salesman. They are offering free installation now. The actual price for wiring is RM200 but now is free 15 meter. Soon Unifi will on service at next month. Since I was just upgraded my home streamyx to 8mbps and worry about the 1 year contract exist. I was asked him, if I was just upgraded my home streamyx to 8mbps at few months ago, can I upgrade again to Unifi again? He say no problem. Besides that, the guy say, since unifi cable is different from streamyx. They cannot just upgrade, they need to terminate my streamyx in order to install a new cable to my house. If I want to keep my current phone number, I have to add up RM1 extra phone rental fee in my future unifi billing.

Guys who are living at these area please go out to the pondok now. One is near the roadside of Taman Bunga Raja, another one is near the junction area of Taman Sri Borneo.

Standard installation is always free.

Unifi and Streamyx cable different, but it is you that must terminate your Streamyx account.

No, you cannot keep your current phone number in the Unifi bill. You can, however, cancel your current phone plan and pay RM1 to keep the number in a separate TM bill.

for everyone regarding installation fee, please take note of this information I posted on the first post:

QUOTE
Important Note: Most common installation that does not require 'extended' internal wiring is FREE. If technician still say otherwise, just tell them this is not the case. If they still insist on payment just request a receipt. I am hearing reports of installations being charged even though it should be free

to give you an idea on what I mean, they did not even bother calculating the internal wiring for my installation and straight away tried to ask me to pay for it. Unfortunately for them I did my homework on this and when I further inquire on this they immediately back off and said "oh yeah you're right". tongue.gif

TL;DR: Seek proper clarification on WHY you're being charged for installation and DEMAND FOR OFFICIAL RECEIPT. This is because there are many reports on 3rd party contractors charging for installation even though they are not suppose to.

Staying same taman as you and saw the booth at the hut there. But didnt sign up. Waiting for TM to call me directly and see if can get cheaper price. Did they give an estimation on when UNIFI will be ready? They pasang the boxes already, but cabling looks halfway done.

streamyx may discontinue gradually in the future until they successfully advise all of the existing streamyx users convert to unifi.
