Things like traffic jams are dependent on external factors. Sometime when the weather is funny like how it is today....there's unwanted bottle neck cos the vehicles cannot travel at the desired speed.

Not that the bus is not efficient....
things like accidents, flood, spoiled traffic light...
u can't blame this on the bus rite?

sometime have to be a bit understanding...
a lot of my colleagues are late for work as well
*
ya. peak hour also late. yesterday also late.

double deck bus also cannot fill everybody.

china dolls dunno what is "please go to the back"

hate the moment where the next bus u wanna take left before u alight the current bus.

and then half an hour later 2 bus (same number) came. which you are already late in the first place.

/end of rant

Go download the SBS Iris app. It will tell you how many minutes more the bus will be reaching your bus stop. If you know the time maybe you will be less frustrated.

to be honest singapore public transport is only "efficient" when compared to other 3rd world countries in SEA. If you compare among (most) developed cities with focus on public transport, it freaking sucks. in SG it's already probably running at close to full (or even perhaps exceeding) capacity, so any small disruption like rain where the MRT and bus need to travel slightly slower will frak it up for everyone.

Example, SG got 5mil people and 4 train lines.
Hong Kong got 7mil people and 10 train + 12 lrt lines
Paris got 2.2mil people and 16 metro lines plus 5 train lines
Tokyo got 13mil people and 102 train lines (121 if counting greater tokyo area) - some of these got like 15, 16 cars per train.

i also start to feel the air is very polluted sad.gif

To be fair, lets compare city to city. Inner KL has about 1.5-2 million people. Including the Greater KL area, the number of population rises to 8 million, which is why we really need a better public transport infrastructure.

I just turned down a job with a 25% raise simply because its in KL.

LOL. I feel that someone is gonna introduce us to the use of the Personal Message system soon.

I'm indifferent. But definitely work exposure is better in SG/HK/Shanghai than KL, due to the particular nature of my profession. (I'm in banking).

I have ready connections in HK/Shanghai but I still prefer SG due to its geographical proximity to MY. I'm in no rush to get a job in SG but its definitely on my to do list for this year.

so my kind malaysian koliks are being kind enough to share how they plan for their future. from what i gather,

i should save at least $800 every month.

and then buy a property in Malaysia.

and buy saving insurance,

because I don't have CPF (she said to cover my backside)

and it is definitely worth it to work in SG compared to KL.

I am still digesting and I couldn't see my future.

I know most elites here will laugh it off, but this i am just from a low paid freshgrad in SG from Malaysia.

I certainly cannot afford to buy any property or drive any car in SG. I am still searching for for a way to settle down psychically and mentally in SG.

is there anything else that i need to know or prepare myself for?
