Hey, anyone applied the STAR education fund??
I applied and was contacted that I was shortlisted for the interview, the subject I've chosen is Computer Science and IT, and it is malaysian campus of notthingham.

The prob is, tat gal didnt giv me the interview details, and yet I've waited for a week...
now I'm in HK and so far I knew the interview date is 18... So i need to fly back...
But I'm not sure whether it is 18 or whatsoever... She didn't tell me the time... She told me to wait for the email... 1 week ady...

What should I do?? My parents want me to call...

Take the initiative to find out instead of waiting for them to tell you. Do you want to risk not getting the scholarship?

I've called that girl through LDC.. A few times and the ATM answered the call, saying she was away..

You didnt tell who you are? How do you expect them to check?
Why dont you leave them a relatives number of yours for them to contact since you are not around. Tell them to inform whoever picks up the phone.

If she doesnt contact you. Then.. maybe you are no longer eligible?

Which should I prefer? Anyone have opinions? Coz all of the courses is Computer Science or IT or both.

Notthingham, a great deal since you will be serving no one.

the other two....don't bother if you have the above two.

It is among the best in the UK. That is according to the rankings.

I would say Notts, Bristol, Durham, Warwick, Manchester and a few others are in the same class.

Nottingham may be one of the top unis in the UK overall but for Computer Science I think it's not as good - top 30 maybe. Check around the web for rankings.

Notts is best known for engineering, medicine,architecture and law.And vet sciences also. Its got a good research reputation. Strength of Notts is very much in the applied sciences.

I googled and I found out overall world ranking for Nottingham Uni is 97 for year 2005...

Don't rely to much on the rankings. Notts is one good schools in the UK.

Do not rely on ratings because those ratings are calculated based on research done in their university. New universities would have no research, therefore, their rating is definitely low!! But I think in Malaysia, it doesn't matter where you get ur degree, as long as it's a recognized UK degree.
Nottingham ranks quite high in the UK - Top 10
But I'm not sure for Computer Science - I think they rank the same as University of Birmingham. For engineering wise, I guess both Birmingham and Nottingham are ok. HAHA I'm just comparing Nottingham n birmingham because most Malaysians would go to these uni for twinning. Besides that, many malaysians would go to Leeds and Sheffield as well.
High rankings uni which are malaysian students would usually choose: Nottingham, birmingham, leeds, sheffield (high ranking)

manchester and warwick.....and some colleges of UOL
