QUOTE(gark @ Apr 9 2013, 10:16 AM) Consumer also have good stocks and bad stocks. Good stocks now can be bad stocks later, and vice versa. Consumer stocks can also be overpriced.... Not necessary consumers stocks = safe. Never assume that. And stocks perceived to be 'safe' like nestle is very expensive....and over bought. Stocks not only need to study the company, but you need to constantly monitor as business climate can change. Stocks also can have many plays... high growth... dividend growth... high dividend... asset play... value play... Now I got APM (automotive parts), HUPSENG (crackers), CARLSBG and TOPGLOVE. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Next targets NESTLE and OLDTOWN. Waiting for better entry price.

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 9 2013, 10:16 AM) I consider EPF as bond because you cannot take out the value for many years and cannot realize gain, in the mean time you just take the dividends, Does that not look like bonds to you? Equity funds also kenot la unless u sell/opt for cash distribution

Salah pilih/construct benchmark, makes your fund looks bad/overly good depending on actual performance This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Apr 9 2013, 11:33 AM

QUOTE(pisces88 @ Apr 8 2013, 10:12 PM) aiyo all koyak.. i also worry to go in now.. but i got new member benefit from fsm, counting down 30 days advice? go for bonds? Most bond funds have 0% sales charge. No use buying bond for new member benefit. Why not use RSP to average the cost over 6 months with 1% sales charge instead?
