Consumer also have good stocks and bad stocks. Good stocks now can be bad stocks later, and vice versa. Consumer stocks can also be overpriced....

Not necessary consumers stocks = safe. Never assume that. And stocks perceived to be 'safe' like nestle is very expensive....and over bought.

Stocks not only need to study the company, but you need to constantly monitor as business climate can change.

Stocks also can have many plays...

high growth...

dividend growth...

high dividend...

asset play...

value play...

I consider EPF as bond because you cannot take out the value for many years and cannot realize gain, in the mean time you just take the dividends, Does that not look like bonds to you?

Well not bad selection. Remember that investing in stock market can be euphoria...when the economy downturn comes it will test your strength as your stock values will be more or less free fall. That is when it will test your mettle.

As commonly said, need to pay tuition fee before can succeed ... laugh.gif I assume you have paid your share of tuition fee already, then you are on ypour way to invest in stocks... wink.gif

Just remember like in UT... never chase high. You don't want to be the last person holding the bag.

Stocks moves up/down 100x faster than UT.... but is more exciting... brows.gif

UT... yawn.gif

The target market, which usualyl also the fund's benchmark. E.g. Kenanga Growth Fund, benchmark/target market = KLCI

AGE underperform benchmark not necessarily means no good, cos its benchmark is a composite benchmark. Salah pilih/construct benchmark, makes your fund looks bad/overly good depending on actual performance tongue.gif

Most bond funds have 0% sales charge. No use buying bond for new member benefit. Why not use RSP to average the cost over 6 months with 1% sales charge instead?
