Wah. This is impressive. At start, I am just interested in those minifigs and SW flight collection only. I don't even look into any modular set. But after you guys collection really bring me to look at modular sets. OMG. Very nice collection, my fren. I must hold the poisoness. Can you guys just post some normal sets picture rather than modular set?

If i start with 1 set, I don't think i can resist frm getting another set. Building a city is more attractive than building a building.    Btw, space is a big problem. In order to get modular set, i think have to figure out where to display first. If not, after building, no place to display is a waste. =l

I have been a long time lurker in these Lego forums. 
Really loved Lego since young. My old sets has since been given away to relatives and friends when we shifted house.
Since then has always been interested in getting Lego again but restrained myself due to lack of space and the cost.

What piqued my interest again was when i saw the CMF (series 4 & 5) being sold in TRU. Was like wahh.. Lego tikam ah? Not that expensive too 
Bought a few packs and then found out there was a Lego thread in LYN. Been foloowing it since.

Since then have bought more CMF and lately got myself and X Wing and TIE Fighter from bro Ilfort.

The Modulars are really poisoning.. It is really expensive and if i can just find a place to display them properly 

I have it too but too lazy to take photos and post here. It's nice and easily impresses every single guests that came to my house. The other Lego set that have the same effect is the 10220 VW T1 Camper. Both sets has that WOW factor!

Personally between the two I like the T1 Camper more, guess I'm not a crazy Star Wars fan!

I'm actually thinking of selling it to free up shelf space and cash. I still have another unopened box of this set so probably I'll keep that set instead. So anyone interested to buy a "USED" UCS R2-D2? Only built once and left on shelf to collect dust, never played with it. I hate calling it "used" because it is essentially new other than my finger prints on every single brick! lol! Comes with box (opened box ends to fold it flat) and instructions. Any takers?

im still searching for it. No fun finding a good price for a discontinued set....
But its a risk to bring 1 set of this. Worry dented badly due to different sizes with the rest.

So here's a question for all all you collectors: if the value appreciated.  Would you actually sell it if it was your only set?

Or would the satisfaction of knowing you have a valuable set be enough?

I'm asking because I have some Hot Toys which value has gone up which I didn't attempt to sell.

I did that when I was collecting comics though. It was cheaper and used to by multiple copies of certain comics.

i have seen review on fire brigade but seems im not liking it..even thought its a must buy due to EOL soon 

my wishlist for modular is haunted house, pet shop or Grand Emporium..

At first I also thought the Fire Brigade is not that nice, that is why I bought the Grand Emporium 1st. However after I got the Grand Emporium and Green Grocer I decided to get the Fire Brigade on news the TLG will stop producing the FB. That was early last year, but till now still in production. The Fire Brigade is better than I had expected, the 1st floor has a very nice interior for your fire-fighters to R&R and even play ping pong. Then you get an antique fire truck with a nice parking bay with the roller shutter on the ground floor. The front façade while a bit repetitive it is very very much less repetitive than the Grand Emporium (when you build both you will know). Even the roof is detailed with the golden bell which is hung by a string and not as incomplete as the Palace Cinema.

Once you get the Fire Brigade you might not want the 60004 unless you want to mod your 60004 to have a façade and interior likthe the FB. The city version looks very.... lacking.

Can't really compare city fire station or police station to the modular buildings. The City ones offer different kind of playability. That's why u see almost half of the buildings are cutaways. Modular buildings are much more complex and are almost complete.
