Crysis failed to secure more sales because:
1. The requirement to play this game are way too high, not many gamers owns a 8 series GC, this is the main reason. Even if they own the 8800 Ultra, the FPS is still a joke.
2. The gameplay & AI are pathetic and stupid, nowhere near COD4 which are revolutionary, exciting and groundbreaking. When you play Hard mode in COD4, it is truly HARD!3. They spent too much time on graphic, bunch of retarded decision by the developer. If i want good feel of jungle/island, i would go to Mauritius/Bahamas, nothing can render those islands in real-time, besides my pair of eyes!
They know Crysis is impossible on Console because of the requirement and now they wanted to go Multi-platform just because of the expected low sales ? They said Crysis 2 graphic will be more advanced than ever. How far can those 2 so called "DX9 Next Gen" consoles is going to utilise your upcoming insane criteria, that is truly beyond me!
Take hint from Far Cry 2 developer. They are going to showed you how it is done this fall!

I strongly agree on the
2nd point.
The whole game was overrated by the reviews, and it was EA behind it.
I still remember FarCry (although its old), the gameplay was good back in the days for its genre.
Crysis is just a marketing reason for CryTek to get developers buy their game engine, and so far not many or no games utilize their tech(not to mention CryEngine 1) due to some major reasons.
Since the first day i've heard about CryTek's game, i knew they will be competing their CE to Epic Game's UnrealEngine.
It is EA's habit to overhype every game with their hypemachine.
On the requirement part, its nothing much to complaint about but only they just got the wrong way of pushing the limits like thinking every hardcore gamers on this planet is friggin rich for max image quality.
Those stuffs are pre-rendered anyway, wait until you see the hard lags in those real render like 3dmax or lighwave or simple put it CAD.
The developers of UnrealEngine approached a smarter was instead, using the current gen hardware to push the graphics to next gen.
From wiki:
QUOTE
Due to aggressive licensing, this current iteration has garnered a great deal of support from several big licensees, including Atari, Activision, Capcom, Disney, Konami, Koei, 2K Games, Midway, THQ, Ubisoft, Sega, Sony, Electronic Arts, Square Enix and more. UE3 has also seen adoption by many non-gaming projects including construction simulation and design, training simulation, driving simulation, virtual reality shopping malls, movie storyboards, continuity, pre-visual, etc., in spite of the fact that the toolset and source code are meant for games. At E3 2007, Sony announced a partnership with Epic with the objective of optimizing the Unreal Engine 3 for the PlayStation 3 hardware, which would affect the dozens of games and developers currently using it.
Engine Licensing ? tell me about it.
From what i see, CryTek is just starting to realize how the market goes.
So far, i've only seen some military uses their engine for training purposes and the video's ive seen so far is nothing but about CryEngine2 CryEngine2 CryEngine2 CryEngine2 CryEngine2 CryEngine2 CryEngine2 CryEngine2 CryEngine2.....it never ends. lol
If they can get a few more Dev to get their engine license to make more games with it ( what is mean more is more than 20 titles ), they might see the paradise they used to render.
Not to mention,FarCry 2 is back with a new engine which contains a small part of the CryEngine 1 codes to produce near CryEngine2 quality, a real competitor.
I dont hate them or never hated them, just hated how they approach the gaming industry.

It is possible to do so, but not fully utilize the game engine. Like having no PS4.0. Even UT3 on the PS3 have their quality tunned down abit to match the system performance while in 1080-Hi-Def if you noticed.
So far on what ive read, the CEO of Crytek, they're gonna create a game for the consoles with the CE2. Expect to have tunned down quality as well .
I LWRNCH6550 is no big fan or whatever game engine, Especially UnrealEngine ( although i look like one ).
I just don't want to be a " whoa ! the graphics are good and the game is good for sure !" zombie gamer. ( As i used to be one )

You are talking about the AI. There are many factors that influence a game's replay value (the entertainment value of playing a game more than once).
So AI is only one of the factors that influence the game's replayability.
I was referring more to the gameplay as well as the wide variety of methods of accomplishing tasks and the lavish visuals. Game's music wasn't bad either.
If they want to make a game with story, then make it at least near like the story telling game like HL2 if possible. (HL was an old shooting game which ended up as a story driven game, even UT3's story "war is business" is better compare to crysis.)
On my POV , the game AI, Objectives, Vehicle Control, crappy storyline, Limited or lame-old @ss conventional weapons (although they have some alien zip-zap weapons, meh i've seen better.) and the brainless shoot-hide-run gameplay affected the whole game. The multiplayer isnt very good as well. (not to mention the hw requirements, we'll get over it soon enough, lol)
The only positive side i notice is the graphics, physics, music(score), actors(MoCap), voice-over actors and effect sounds . These are great, near movie quality.

wont be so teruk la

even 10k PC is more enough 2 raep future crysis easily

A RM 3k~3.5k PC is enough to get the game running at high @ 20~30+FPS (1280x1024). It's still acceptable at this FPS rate for single-playing.
Most hardware reviews dont run at 1024 unless for CPU purposes, a 9600gt can play the game at these FPS@1280x1024 along with enough rams and a RM 500 C2D.
BTW , i think CRYSIS sequel needs girls in bikini on beach, maybe more than needs. The beach looks so empty without them.
