Finished playing crysis! Haha, the story look similar like starship troopers the movie when you play until the alien part mission.

Finished Crysis in 4 days, damn, looking forward to the continuation! can't wait to bomb the aliens with prophet

Crytek blames low Crysis sales on Piracy

In next 10 years (probly) say bye2 to pc games! Seriously this is very sad news.

I must say that it is their own fault for making public their tease trailer, with a graphic quality that has never been seen before. The only selling phrase was DX10. This had sent millions on an upgrading spree spending thousands on quads and 8800 and big LCDs. These ppl probably left dissapointed coz after all those fuss, not even the highest spec PC of the now can cater a quality even close to the one shown on the teasers.

If it were that good, many wouldnt have mind spending extra cash buying the original. Id say EA deserves every bit of that for deceiving consumers and insulting the gamers populus intelligence.

yeah...when everyone focused on consoles. we shall have those hackers focused on consoles too. then crytek will blame consoles. muahaha...

i find the gameplay very plain and linear in this game.

I wonder how well the game would run if it were like that teaser trailers? I reckon not well at all. Besides the teaser trailers was not the only trailer released(not to mention a demo of the game)...there were also other in game movies. The teaser trailer thing is not something specific to EA alone. Many other games use CG trailers. But I agree they must at least put some sort of disclaimer. The industry has to work that out. I hardly consider this as the reason for pirating it though.

I also find it extremely bewildering that the very people who whine about the game and how they think its isn't worth the money actually downloaded the game and played the game either way. If they thought the game sucked why did they need to download it? I'm not accusing you of piracy mind you, merely commenting that most game forums(official) with such posters are dubious because they pirate. Smacks of hipocrisy.

Added on May 5, 2008, 12:38 pmWhile it is sad to hear about Crytek loosing confidence in making PC exclusives, I hardly would say it is the death of PC gaming. PC gaming is more versatile and more flexible than closed consoles. We shall see how it fares in the future.

i believe PC gaming wont die so fast you see the total WoW community in their message boards this signals that PC gaming is still going strong and blizzard is the one of the only publisher that sides PC gaming only

maybe Crytek i d one dying cuz we never heard a complaint from Ubisoft, Microsoft or any other developer...

Good games or bad games, piracy will always be there. But when the sales go down, i blame it on the promise the developer made to the end user instead of putting it all entirely to piracy. EA has put up a big hype abt it but even myself was left dissapointed after downloading the 1GB demo. It was not what they have shouted about....not even close. Looked to me like a souped up FarCry thats all. Then the rumours of things are slightly different on the full release version. Not really. Everything on the first chapter was the same as the demo. I was left dissapointed and felt cheated but i took a gamble and bought the game to pay homage to the artists and programmers who work night and day for this game. This is not their fault. They kids need to go to school and food on their table.

And i second one of the reply from the link - How u can compare Halo sales with Crysis when Halo cost you an xbox price to play, while Crysis will cost u a BOMB to even get a decent FPS???

They can only blame it on themselves and not others. Crysis is a good revolutionary game but most gamers felt cheated. Pirate needs no excuse to do their stuff by the way.

If Crytek is going to move away from PC, they can no longer have their game's main selling point, good graphics.

Consoles are good but not good enough for those high-end PCs.

Probably thats one reason why their sales are low. Coz not all can play their games.

You mean console like PS3 or XBOX the graphics not as nice as high-end pc like 8800series.

Probably true in a way but i rather sacrifice a little bit of quality (not appreciable my any means...just look at in-game shots of any ps3 games) for a headache of figuring out how many fps i'll be getting with my rig setup. It somehow takes some of the fun of gaming away. In time ure finish setting up ur pc, u'll be busy looking at the fps count instead of fully immerse urself in the game.

haha, i was rather shocked to see the ending so fast..... even though i felt dizzy playing the game, i continued haha.. usually after playing ill hit the bed right away for a nap to get rid of the headache .... i guess im not 3rd person shooter immuned

the problems is.....FPS is never meant for consoles. mouse and keyboard are the most accurate way one could aim and shoot. no matter how good they tweak/optimize the control scheme on a gamepad.

crytek failed in the most important aspects in games. Gameplay. graphics are enhancements of gameplay. super graphics without good software/hardware support/utilization = bad/stuttering/lowered setting (aka ugly graphic) gameplay.

True....hmmmmm...........are u thinking wut im thinking? a mice mod for console perhaps? That could change the face of gaming forever...LOL

i dont quite care if crytek dont want to create exclusives to PC..
if they do their multiplatform game well on PC -> looks at COD 4...
im happy,
but if they just code the game for the PC halfheartedly and worse, just ports it lazily from console build -> looks at AC ngan Vegas, Vegas 2...
then ill surely be happy to *lanun* their game anytime
