Well, If he didn't had the M80/M83 already, I would really think that Ultimate Compound with Duragloss #501 should be good enough, saves a step too.

Where are you located anyway? The Bosch should be common enough to be bought at any hardware store, the only thing is the bargaining needed to be done.
Meguiar's Ultimate Compound's cut can vary by the pad used, so, IMO, it's a very good Over-The-Counter product that most enthusiasts can use. The Duragloss is a LSP, but it has mild abrasives that could clean up most of the light swirls or marring on our typically soft Asian clear coats, yet leave behind a decent durability protection. |

Then I don't see how you need to purchase the stuff from Johor, any hardware shops should stock the Bosch.
You've got it right about needing to wash/clay/remove tar before any machine polishing. I'm not so sure if there are alternatives for UC(ultimate compound) in OTC form that's so versatile, maybe other sifu(s) could chip in about that. Of course if you could dedicate another step for a polish like SwirlX or Ultimate Polish it'll be better, but since you're working on limited budget, the Duragloss Marine RV Polish (#501) on a polishing pad would be good enough to remove any light marring/swirls and leave behind a durable sealant. |

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Jul 12 2013, 03:32 PM) i'm getting from 12v.com.my Do you already have a LSP? If not, you'll still have to get a LSP, which was why I didn't suggest UP and replace it with other LSP.Maybe get the RM120 Combo MUC + MUP. Pads get 2 (budget mar) RM45 each 1 polishing 1 cutting so RM90. Still have budget for a Machine! |

QUOTE(flowerhorn @ Jul 13 2013, 10:45 AM) Can't help on the M205 as they are sold by the gallon, but alternatively, you could get the M101(originally meant for rotary and cutting pads anyway) in a quart(32oz.) from Supreme Care. |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Jul 14 2013, 12:46 AM) Well, if you're concerned about durability, and don't mind spending a little more. I would recommend Duragloss as the most bang per buck wax/sealant in terms of durability, they are in liquid form. If you don't mind working on paste wax(which is usually harder to lay a thin coat and buff off), then, personally, most Soft99 paste waxes are pretty durable although they might not seemed to beading anymore. |

If not mistaken, both have similiar cutting power(considering the same pad) but have different types of abrasives and thus different techniques and also M83 tend to have more lubrication hence less drying/dusting, but I would say Ultimate Compound should have a tad more cutting.

Not too sure, was supposed to have a bulk order in a group of us earlier on but no news, but this brand is available at hardware shops.
I don't think PTGs get any cheaper unless you want to try your luck getting from overseas thru Ebay. |

QUOTE(TitanLok @ Jul 23 2013, 08:49 AM) That explains, I suppose you had bought one of those G110v2 instead of sourcing for a local used G220v2 which is plug and play to local electricity supply.QUOTE(mav3rick @ Jul 23 2013, 03:44 PM) Read below QUOTE(KrisMas @ Jul 23 2013, 04:28 PM) Woi....fishing ka...? JFYI a 2nd hand G220v2 *could* cost around the price (or there-about) of a brand new Ultramate....hehehe.... Well, that's the "dilemma" of people trying to sell the G220v2, competition from a brand new Ultramate. When we buy something at the price close to a brand new RUPES, I guess, it's hard to let it go at a *gulps* RM600+ price. |

QUOTE(TitanLok @ Jul 24 2013, 01:46 PM) Haha...you are right! I bought from Autogeek cause the whole package seems more attractive compare to the local distributor. However the problem is I need to get a transformer in order to use it...I knew quite some number of shop at Jalan Pasar,Pudu aer selling but I just try luck see anyone have experience with this system and using transformer as well. I've gone thru the "using a transformer" stage myself, it just wasn't worth it, it wasn't a G110 though, and I eventually converted it to 230v thru some local modding shop.I'm not sure how much you saved, but a good transformer don't come cheap either. |

QUOTE(ChiaKhai @ Jul 24 2013, 09:27 PM) it can be converted into 230V? can I know where/how to do that? Depends on model, the one I converted wasn't the Meguiar's DA, and will have to get the guys to check it out first. It's Octave Electronics in PJ State near to Amcorp Mall, they are pretty popular in the audio modding scene.using the transformer is so inconvenient; heavy stuff. anyway I added wheels to my transformer, it did help a bit, not a lot tho, still have to carry when switching panels This post has been edited by GRexer: Jul 24 2013, 11:22 PM |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Jul 25 2013, 09:58 AM) Read your PM. The answer is NO....I'm not selling my Bigfoot to you or anybody. Go buy your own la... hehehe...j/k....not yet la...still waiting.... QUOTE(maxguy @ Jul 25 2013, 02:44 PM) I'm actually considering selling my LHR15 Bigfoot. Brand new never been used without any pads.[edit] The only reason for selling is because I'm getting the "bigger foot" since I already have the smaller for tighter areas unit. QUOTE(neekun @ Jul 26 2013, 04:13 PM) Been searching for a water spot remover and bumped into these two: it depends on where you're trying to remove water spots from and we'll work out other alternatives available locally.http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-ar...ater-spots.html Any comments on the above? I dont think i see the above selling here in Malaysia |

I rather doubt the Zymol would help much. These blue bottle Zymol are usually made by Turtle Wax.

Even if there's no rectification of paint imperfections, there's still some preparation work needed, as in, making sure the paint surface is clean and free from contaminants.

Am gonna do a small test between Optimum Car Wax, Sonax High Speed Wax(which is available at most Tesco in Malaysia) and Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer since I have all of them.
