QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Apr 29 2013, 11:37 AM) I re-polish it with Meg 101, licin and shinny. Yes, I confirm it because check and recheck a few time. Bring the IS over on Wednesday (if you're coming). Let's put a little bit of it on my test panel after we're done using the machines on it. I can't believe it's really that bad..... Then coat again with new cloth, not sure what is wrong, probably is the MF... Now, standing from far, you can see hologram. This post has been edited by KrisMas: Apr 29 2013, 05:26 PM |

Ok. I've manage to secure a vanue. Not 100% confirmed but I'd say around 90% firm. Will finalise everything right after lunch.
Location/Google map coord: 3.082181,101.527091 It's in Seksyen 9, Shah Alam. The place is a car wash shop that utilise high pressure vapour steam instead of the normal hose+water. Goes by the name of Salam Car Boutique. Time: 10am (but we'd start when everybody's ready.....hehehe) Or if you guys want to have a light breakfast/TT we can meet up earlier, say around 9am ~ 9.30am, at Syed mamak restaurant just a few shops away. Those coming or plan to come, could you guys please PM me your number just in case there's any last minute changes. Regards. |

hehehe...been like that since '96. Haven't grown longer (or shorter)...LOL
Our 'trademark' for detailing TT - look for something detailing related on the table. For tomorrow, I think I'll bring with me a Meguiars paperbag....more prominent and I think should be recognised by all here.... |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Apr 30 2013, 01:18 PM) got meg's also? or no need to compare, sonax con lan firm superior that kinda deal? I don't have the Megs consumer wheel cleaner. But if comparing Sonax and Megs Wheel Brightener, the two products works differently. Pretty long if really want to elaborate. Later la. |

Won't be able to see the difference if the wheels are 'just dirty'. The difference between the two can only be noticeable on caked on (normal cleaning won't be able to remove) brake dust.
QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Apr 30 2013, 01:39 PM) hi all sifus, I put down this advice/suggestion with CAUTIONS: technique plays a MAJOR role in this method, or else you're be putting down more swirls and scratches if not done accordingly.my current situation: - i live in condo - car wash shop is about 3km away from home - wanted to do waxing on my own what do you guys recommend me do? go to the shop for a car wash, then drive back to home, wipe my car with a damp cloth and wipe dry, then apply my own wax? washing my car myself is out of the question, as we don't have washing car facilities in the condo. Read up and understand 'rinseless' or 'waterless' car wash. In your situations, the 'rinseless' or 'waterless' car wash would come in handy. Use it to clean your car while it is fairly clean or slightly dirty. Then wax on as normal. I'd suggest do it one panel/one section in a time, i.e. wash one section then wax that section before going onto the next section. Eg. Wash the roof -> dry -> wax -> wash front section -> dry -> wax -> doors -> etc. Or, you can try to bring your wax to the car wash shop you mentioned and find a suitable place near there to do your waxing. |

Righto, venue and time confirmed. Anybody for a small TT/Breakfast beforehand can drop over to Syed Restaurant a few doors away. I'll be there at around 9.30am. For the venue, just look for Salam Car Boutique, a couple of doors beside 99 Speedmart. I don't think you guys would missed it.
Date: 01/05/2013 (Wednesday) Time: 10.00am Venue: Google map coord 3.082181,101.527091 Confirmed machines: Bosch ROB, Megs G220, Ultramate DA (DAS6 Pro), DeWalt 849X Rotary, Rupes LHR15 ES aka Bigfoot See you guys there. Regards. |

QUOTE(Lacus @ May 1 2013, 10:21 PM) btw regarding those machines, how much are we looking at each Roughly:1. Bosch ROB - RM350 2. Megs G220 (local RRP) - RM1600 3. Ultramate (Das6 Pro) - RM880 4. DeWalt rotary - RM650 5. Bigfoot - RM2k 6. *China DA* (the black one) - RM500 7. DDJ Buff Daddy (Das6 - not there yesterday) - RM750 Roughly only la. If want detail then need to contact the seller/supplier la..... Oh...and we're talking about the machine only la...which would normally come with a backing plate but WITHOUT ANY PADS. Shucks....didn't go online for *almost* one day and so many pages already....
QUOTE(ckming @ May 2 2013, 10:32 AM) Hi guys.... what's the simplest way to maintain your car shininess for long run? Send your car to somebody reliable to do a proper FULL detail. Get yourself a proper shampoo and wash mitt and start learning on the proper way of washing your car without causing much damage (swirls). Then arm yourself with a bottle of spray wax/sealant (eg. Optimum Car Wax, Megs Ultimate Quick Wax, Duragloss Aquawax, etc.) and a couple of pieces of good quality microfiber cloths, just spray and wipe after every two washes (if your're washing weekly)....QUOTE(lonewolf @ May 2 2013, 11:21 AM) KrisMas... the liquid that u said alkaline to clear the water mark and you use to clean that jumbo rim(not that sonax), what liquid was that again? QUOTE(Quazacolt @ May 2 2013, 11:26 AM) Aswered there.QUOTE(Quazacolt @ May 2 2013, 02:15 PM) hmm how much if i wanna buy a gallon myself? i tend to be a bit particular on wheels since i want to keep them clean an it'll supposedly dissipate heat better than caked rims haha oh and they are the more "expensive looking" parts of my car XD QUOTE(arj @ May 2 2013, 01:41 PM) For something as strong as the Wheel Brightener, I don't think it should be used regularly, something like every 6 months is fine. Using it still requires some agitation. After hitting your wheels with WB or Sonax, your weekly or bi-weekly wheel washing should be very easy using normal shampoo plus some APC once in a while. QUOTE(arj @ May 2 2013, 01:48 PM) Erkk! I don't think acid-based cleaners should go anywhere near a painted surface Totally agree. I also only use the WB as and when required only. Even then, I RARELY USE anything stronger than 1:10. Most of the times are just either APC or normal shampoo.APC/degreasers would be a better choice if you want it for multiple application QUOTE(Quazacolt @ May 2 2013, 01:44 PM) hmm if you dilute WB enough, it could be used as an APC too id reckon. im planning to use that for really stubborn stains on the car itself XD Different chemical formulation for different conditions...that's all I know....can't explain further cuz I don't understand much of it also...hahaha....QUOTE(arj @ May 2 2013, 02:30 PM) Did they change the recipe recently? Always known it as acid-based. hrrmm...didn't know about that one. Not sure whose right or wrong. But I checked their msds just now it says pH 5.5. Quite consitant with my 'test'"Meguiar's Wheel Brightener is an ideal product for professional detailers seeking a powerful acid-based wheel cleaner that quickly and effectively removes stubborn brake dust deposits." http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/me...tener-cat4.html Anyways, if anybody is doing a group buy for it I would like to have some ![]() ![]() ![]() Not-so-scientific and not-so-accurate...but roughly can get the idea. Oh...have to also remember one thing though - pH level doesn't really mean much if we're talking about safe or not on what surface. If you dip a litmus paper into a heavily diluted acid it would still read pH 13...it's the CONCENTRATION that counts.... |

QUOTE(GRexer @ May 2 2013, 10:12 AM) Interesting, which China DA was there yesterday? Can somebody post up the pictures they took. One of them might have a picture of it. But roughly, it looks a lot like the Aikka one except for the whole thing is black instead of green-ish.....QUOTE(GRexer @ May 2 2013, 11:45 AM) There's some sort of GB going on, might want to contact Krismas regarding it. It's dilutable and doesn't necessarily needs to be used neat. Sshhhh....not so loud. Lots of undercover people around.... |
