I would say go for it ! It will be worth your every penny. Nexus 4 is way much more smoother compared to s3

Worth it or not it's really on your own perspective, budget & etc.

1) Do you play around with flashing custom ROMs? If yes, there are also ROMs for SGS3 which are updated to latest version (such as CM for SGS3). If no, that's one of the advantage(s) of Nexus 4 (fast update).

2) Are you willing to lose some money in-between (cause you'll definitely lose some money by selling your used SGS3, and to purchase a new N4).

3) Do you really need it now? (As the next Nexus series might be announced in few months ~ half year time if you could wait tongue.gif)

If your answer is no for 1) and yes to the other questions, then it might be worth it for you (as different people will have different opinion, for me, I refrain from upgrading my phone unless it is at least two-tiers-or-above-jump (e.g. Nexus S to Nexus 4; Desire HD to Nexus 4)

is there a need to flash gapps? if i'm not mistaken, i've read somewhere that CM has implemented some sort of blablabla to keep the gapps in system. i'm having no problem at all when i don't flash gapps.

but, when i flash both roms and kernel at the same time, i got bootloop.  doh.gif

They must have done something to the scripts I guess.

Yeah you can flash kernel right after you flash rom but you HAVE TO wipe dalvik and cache first.

it's actually a myth that wiping cache/dalvik is needed when changing kernel. it has nothing to do with cache, again, if i'm not mistaken.

I never bother to wipe any caches when switching kernels and I have never any problems
But no harm doing it if one wishes - just need only few more seconds only
But rebooting back slightly longer as the caches need to be build up back

Thoretically speaking, the kernel is part of something that could controls how the device behaves for e.g. Wifi and audio , and cache is something related to the apps we use and the framework that we're in. If we change from kernel a to kernel b which I'd totally two different things, then I don't see a clear isn't needed. Cause without wiping might lead to instabilities to apps. Maybe kernel a has voodoo sound and kernel b doesn't. If you don't clear cache and dalvik something bad is bound to happen in my opinion.

Just my 2cents

Yea I do realize facebook apps take a lot of battery juice. I uninstalled both the messenger and fb apps, then it improved a lot.
