The heat problem was too much to be acceptable. It was so hot even to feel it with the phone inside my jeans pocket.
Random restart was not acceptable as well, what on earth is Nokia doing, this is a high end phone? New OS? Don't think so, they have more than enough time for RnD and comes out with this product?

I've been using 800 for a year before this upgrade to 920, it was a huge disappointment, seriously thinking of letting it go and goes back to my Lumia 800.
*
For me heat is only becomes a bit too much when playing high graphic games for over 15mins, usually the ones i paid for, not free games, and when i take too many photos with the Proshot app (like, 50+ shots in less than 30 minutes). Under other circumstances like on data, only slightly warm; it never heats up unreasonably. And i have yet to experience a random reboot, and i havent updated to portico yet. I think legacy wp7 apps must be at fault for the reboot issue.

Is WP7 apps are not meant to be run un WP8 devices, then why make it available ?
Try turn on 3G and Drive+, feel the heat. I'm just imaging that, haven't tried, guess I can just fry an egg on it.
*
It is supposed to run on WP8 as well, but they were around since WP7 days - and the update for it to run WP8 probably isnt perfect, has bugs. As an owner since December i have yet to experience random reboots; there was only twice an app freezed my phone and i manually soft reset it. Otherwise nothing is wrong so far. Battery life sux when on 3G data though, without data on battery life is pretty good

im kindda agree with lipfung, the heating on L920 is total unacceptable. if compare with other windows phone that running 7.5 or 7.8 not even can feel the heat that rise faster than 920.

with my previous smartphone i can 24/7 on my Data connection and during day time i can even on all my data/bluetooth/wifi. now, i have to practice switching OFF my phone if the temperature rise above the abnormal level for 5min , and switch off data & goes to flight mode before i go to bed.  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

look like L920 ain't smartphone , because have to be extra careful not to toast the radio like i did earlier.  rclxub.gif

That's odd because even on H+ my phone is only a bit warm, never heats up unreasonably

since some of you guys are from penang.. see any Samsung ATIVS in Gurney Samsung ??
*
Rarely hear ppl want Ativ S, I'm not even sure if it is available in m'sia 'yet'. But I dun really like Samsung's attitude towards windows phone. They make one just because other ppl also make one, and they dun put in effort in pushing some of their own exclusive apps to the platform. They don't want WP to be a competitor to their own new Linux based OS, Tizen (new version of Bada) which will be launched later this year. I will just sit aside and see how Tizen is going to struggle, being another new OS.

woah really nice .. pls share with us how many hrs charging time with ur new wireless charger
*
my guess is 2.5 hours. Faster than USB to a computer, but slower than AC power. For me, yesterday it went up from 25% to 90% in 2 hrs, with phone's WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC all turned on, playing music, but data is off.

it is available in our soil just 3days ago

our member just tested

im heading to Gurney tomorrow to check it out...

RRP1699.00 very reasonable prices with Micros SD Slot + 4.8" + 2300mAh Battery !!!  flex.gif

Just 3 days ago, no wonder. First wp8 phone announced, last one to make it to the market haiz...
I didn't like the metallic paint on plastic though, made it look cheap, kinda like one of my Nokia c5-00 kind of plastic for the back cover. Bigger battery because if bigger screen, to me, kinda fair... HTC 8x have around 17xx or 1800mah battery for 4.3' screen, can't remember, Lumia 920 has 2000mah for 4.5'. I thought 2000mah for a duo core phone is considered a lot already; One X had less and Butterfly only 2020mAh, but again HTC is to blame for putting small batteries in their phones.

for me, i rather stay with firmware that is stable, no point going for some beta or minor update which will cause another issues.

Agree; im going to wait a bit longer and see how things become before i update to portico; no, i dont want to lose my stuff (even after backng up to cloud storage), i have better things to download like a shitload of bluray anime and movies rather than waiting that time downloading 16 gigs of phone content i lost for nothing, simply for a firmware upgrade.

You mean the "Others" part in storage taking up 4Gb? Me also =/
Shrink Storage app seems to be not available for Lumia 920

saw u all recommended this camera apps few page back, so wanna test out the trial version before getting 1..
so gonna wait till it stable 1st then only buy sweat.gif
*
Quite stable since version 2.0; it never crashed for my case; only that when i take lots of shots with the app in a short period, say, 50 photos in 15 minutes, it heats up really fast, and battery drain is also quite significant. Otherwise i have no complaints for the app - i just want another feature in it for now - HDR. But it's good to see them rolling out updates regularly.

RM79 better add more to get CP-600 laugh.gif
Malaysian customer service at its best whistling.gif  rclxms.gif
Back in January, I asked a reseller at Center Point, KK about Red 920, mark up price RM2299.
Then I said "eh boss why so mahal?".
Boss:"limited stock mah."
Me:"RRP 1999 only wor. Avaxx/Zitron set?"
Boss:" final price 2299, AP set. Take it or don't kacau kacau here".
So LC the face when he talks to me
RM2299 not zitron/avaxx set some more

3 weeks later i went there check again, still RM2299, even thought after i lodged a complaint to Nokia Malaysia sweat.gif
I hope Nokia terminates the shop's status as reseller.

Conclusion, garage sales > all thumbup.gif
*
Nokia stores in M'sia all epic customer service one =.= Most of them are like " i use the iPhone, i love Samsung, but im working for Nokia". They dun even talk nicely when we ask for clarification of the price mark up. Take it of leave it attitude. This will worsen Nokia's reputation in Malaysia, where Nokia is not selling well already. It's a big problem, because if Malaysia is no longer a big market for Nokia like China and India, they will release new products late into the country, and subsequently updates and accessories will also be late.

No idea why it always happens; when i search for the app sure cannot find any results in my phone. sweat.gif A lot of times i had to rely on QR code. For this one, I had to type that URL slowly into browser, then only it redirects me to the app page. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

guys,if i get singapore 2nd unit, i wonder if i can get update too from nokia malaysia?

the only issues that hold me from get lumia are overhot, restart issues..
*
Overheat - only when excessive gaming for me. Otherwise never happens; havent restarted even once since i bought it in December so i guess it really depends what apps u have in your phone. I only installed like 60 apps are are frequently updated since i bought the phone till now, and i got rid of 2 non-xbox games i no longer play.

Guys, i do know that some of my apps have updates to newer versions, but everytime i connect to Y5 the updates do not appear immediately in the app store (as a number on the live tile), so how do i check for updates manually for APPS everytime i go online? I heard by default it checks for updates weekly, but i dont go online on my phone daily for long hours so most likely sometimes when the scheduled update check was supposed to run, i wasnt online, and the check is being skipped for another week and i dont get notifications for new app updates. Dun tell me my phone have to be connected USB to laptop and use the windows phone app for desktop for that. >.<

My phone lies on my wireless charging stand usually while on standby, if have to USB it, haiz, damn troublesome. I lazy to plug in and out the cable frequently, not interested my phone's vagina, unless i do large volume of file transfer.
