You meant the Portico firmware cause the flickering ? Have you asked Nokia Center ?

Try to turn off auto brightness if it helps

I have heard this before, but not in all devices, which is weird; some cases are due to portico update, not hardware issue

Dust problem? Have you try switching off the auto brightness? My flickering issue is obvious under well-lit area, or under the sun.

Your phone already has the Portico Update.
And Nokia just released the latest Firmware update, which i believe not available in Msia yet!
Battery performance should be good with the Portico update. make sure you have the background task setting set to blocking those unnecessary apps.

No idea with video player.
