And the word here is "upgrade" and consumers will be a sucker for it . Guess it's human nature , when ip5 came out , everyone was complaining . Yet today , ip5 has the top sales compared to others in the market in Q4 . And for those who r complaining here about the design and how u bad u guys felt about it , dont go buying a S4 when it comes out . It will contradict to your own words .

S4 offers a lot of new stuff that I can see.  IR Blaster, Smart Pause, built-in pedometer, etc.  It will be a worthy upgrade to the dual-core phone owners of two generations ago (and maybe new smartphone / iOS owners), maybe not so much for current S4 owners.
There's also the other side of the coin - herd mentality.  During your 'study', does the average Joe demonstrate a strong sense of independent decision-making (I will not buy S4), or does he go with the flow (I bought S3 becos everybody had one)?

I suspect a lot of people had individual opinions in the beginning but eventually succumbs to perceived societal and peer pressure in order to blend in.  Public acceptance is so important these days, especially to the younger crowd (Gen Y and younger).

anyway, but i do agree that sometimes high MP camera (like 13MP) may not really yield good results as compared to 8MP. i guess lots of other factors... however, i'd think Samsung would not wanna screw up and give us something inferior.

any idea NFC is on battery or battery cover?

except if the case is otterbox defender... lolz... i mean seriously. i have a friend using that case on the s3. the s3 dun look 'sexy slim' anymore. it's like some tank or iron man suit... hahaha...

but ya, i have to say, i really respect that case. my friend dropped his phone a few times, sometimes intentionally, and the s3 is still working fine.

Yes , can see that in Nexus 4 and Xperia Z threads. I think I am only one of the few talking negative stuffs about these phones and what I said is true based on my experience using them
I am no fanboy of any brand though I used many Samsung phones and seriously I have no major complains except for only Galaxy S which I openly said is the worst Android phone in my list

honestly im thinking twice about buying this phone because of its design.

With greater sales and profits , only the company can spend more money on marketing efforts
Until and unless HTC gets some form of additional financial support to have a greater marketing budget, their sales will be hard to match Samsung. This is what was reported in BusinessInsider:

I even never feel any special of iPhone as I own 1st iPod touch, iPhone just add-on call functionality on it, until dated iPhone5 was same, nothing much impress.

Smoothness - also 100% agree, iOS no widget, no real background running, off course it will be much much smoother than Android.

if its rightly priced, then it'd attract more potential buyers for sure. I really hope that they change their standard pricing with the S4. Interested to get the 32GB one, but if only the price is right as in <RM2200 for a 32GB model.

design-wise, it is disappointed, especially to S3 users whose habit is upgrading phone every year.  but even its made from poly-carbonate materials, the finishing of it is nice imo. HTC One is nice too, but 4.7" for me is a lil bit small nowadays since I spent a lot of time on my phone rather than the desktop nowadays. How i wish Note 3 is just around the corner as well.
