QUOTE(bugijun @ Mar 15 2013, 09:07 AM) Apple only one OS n only one phone You want iPhone you have zero choice For androids there are so many choices Samsung just need to evaluate whether design is still an important criteria in buying. Looks like it is here in this forum S3 was damn from start as being ugly but yet end up as bestseller phone I would think a hands on will gives one s better impression as photos are not accurate assessment Personally design is never my main consideration. For next galaxy Samsung could possibly consider better classier build materials with minimal plastics while maintaining its shape. This I believe will please more some of its fans

QUOTE(LordDenning @ Mar 15 2013, 09:42 AM) Really torn between 2 worlds lol What the S4 has that I like is not available on the Htc One and what i like on the Htc One is not on the S4. This is the real world You can never expect one product to have everything. Same goes for other electronics, cars, etc This is what made our world exciting - constant debate of which is better Buy both if you can afford n later sell off that you don't like

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Mar 15 2013, 10:55 AM) It's really interesting reading all the posts. It really fortifies what I have been 'studying' half my life which is the multi-facets of humans and their behavior. To put it simply, 'to each his own'. And there are 2 sides to a coin. Having said that, let's see whether the sales of this S4 will out-pace its predecessor. In my mind, it will and I am willing to put a wager on it. Right ! Time will tell whether the S4 will follow the success of the S3 And if it succeed, this will shut the mouth of all those who cursed/condemn it Funny , Why some of you get so heated up over this. You don't like it, just don't even consider buying it. It is not a case of "must buy or die" decision. Go and get the HTC one/Butterfly or Xperia or LG or Nexus, whatever Samsung is not forcing you to buy its latest S4

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Mar 15 2013, 12:07 PM) And the word here is "upgrade" and consumers will be a sucker for it . Guess it's human nature , when ip5 came out , everyone was complaining . Yet today , ip5 has the top sales compared to others in the market in Q4 . And for those who r complaining here about the design and how u bad u guys felt about it , dont go buying a S4 when it comes out . It will contradict to your own words . Don't be surprised some of the early buyers will be those who are complaining mainly about the design. I see the same trend in S3 when all the "ugly phone" descriptions were thrown about. As I have said earlier , such users can possibly change their mind when physically viewing and handling the phone Personally just based on the photos, it looks slightly better than the S3. I am fine with its appearance/design - it is not going to win any beauty contest but than buying a phone, as I always said design is not my main consideration unlike some others

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Mar 15 2013, 05:55 PM) No need to Google lar.. I'm talking bout 1st experience with Amoled screen. I've using SGS > SGS2 > SGS3 Note1 > Note2 Nexus S > Galaxy Nexus All the above phones are using Amoled display and i have NONE screen burn issue. No joking here Or your can try ask Uncle Benny as i believe he also uses the above phones and see what his answer. No such burn in issue on all my S2,S3, Note, Note 2, Tab 7, tab 7.7, Note 10.1 But than I rarely used these more than a year , average only 6-9 months. Presently only left Note 10.1

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Mar 15 2013, 08:23 PM) Here a lots of fanboys. That's the truth. Even when other reviewers (that have the actual phone in hand and used it) report something that against their beloved phone..they will scream BIASED...(and they haven't even have the phone yet) Yes , can see that in Nexus 4 and Xperia Z threads. I think I am only one of the few talking negative stuffs about these phones and what I said is true based on my experience using them I am no fanboy of any brand though I used many Samsung phones and seriously I have no major complains except for only Galaxy S which I openly said is the worst Android phone in my list

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 15 2013, 08:55 PM) I think susah la, Samsung marketing too crazy, a lot user never seen online review like us, they only seen advertisement, everywhere was Samsung. At least this year, Sony keep advertised. HTC wise, one also never seen! It is a chicken and egg situation With greater sales and profits , only the company can spend more money on marketing efforts Until and unless HTC gets some form of additional financial support to have a greater marketing budget, their sales will be hard to match Samsung. This is what was reported in BusinessInsider: In September, Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales and marketing at HTC, told us the reason Samsung was kicking his butt was the size of his budget. He told Business Insider's Jay Yarow: "Samsung spent four to six times more in advertising than us." This rings true. You remember all Samsung's ads making fun of iPhone users waiting in line. Anyway, HTC's slogan is "quietly brilliant." Clearly, it shouldn't be so quiet about it.http://www.businessinsider.com/the-biggest...1#ixzz2Nc5yaH8iMost consumers buying decision ( unlike us folks here or in other phone forums in the world ) are more easily influenced by advertising

QUOTE(nabielz @ Mar 15 2013, 08:57 PM) n i dunno what is so special about samsung. people get get crazy over it but i cant feel anything special.haha Same question too on iphones I have used the first iphone ( paid a premium of RM 1000 ) , than subsequently all the series till ip5 and till today I still dont understand why the craze over it . I don't feel anything special about it and all these talk of smoothness is just because they do not allow widgets and customization of their homescreens. Allow such stuffs, and all this smoothness talk will stop. And is unimportant - come on , what is the improved mico second smoothness going to give the user - an orgasm ?? Yes, iphone has more apps . How many apps do one need - a thousand. Even a hundred is hell a lot. Whatever app I want in IOS, I can find same or similar alternative in Android But the iphone is still a good phone . Only I cannot stand are those users who are forever gloating it and that anyone who doesn't use iphone are not as smart as them This post has been edited by benny888: Mar 15 2013, 09:24 PM

QUOTE(silencer @ Mar 17 2013, 07:10 AM) The brickbats n negative comments will continue I am more interested in the S4 sales figures this time. Will Samsung succeed as in S3 or will it fail. If is latter , it'd be a wake-up call to Samsung to seriously review their design decisions

After using so many Samsung phones I have grown to love the home button. And I see this has retained in S4 n hopefully too the Note3 . Unconsciously I still want to presss the phone bottom center many times looking for it when using my xperia z , nexus4 n butterfly. It is practically a very good phone feature though some might not like the sight of it

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Mar 18 2013, 06:08 PM) I'm more concern on rooting. If the phone can be rooted then it's a go for me. I just need root to remove pesky ads and bloatwarez. The rest like custom roms are secondary. Same for me too Since Note2 never bother about CM/AOKP roms anymore Note 2 touchwiz default rom has improved drastically n I used other roms based on it . Only I don't use TW ui interface

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 19 2013, 11:30 AM) I am not planning to get this phone... but if I get, I will go for snapdragon since Exynos no support on LTE (base on the given information if was correct). I know Malaysia still on testing period, but it may come soon, end of year or next year? By the time , say 50% of Msia has LTE coverage, we will be talking about S5 and HT One v2 !!!
