Never expect EPF to give you high dividend every year. I only target them to pay 5% a year. Anything more than that considered bonus thumbup.gif

I'm starting to max out my self contribution RM60k a year given the increasing dividend every year! rclxms.gif

I uplifted my FD last May and deposit 60K into EPF. If confirm earning like the monthly EPF contributions, will repeat for this year.

Did you bank in through bank transfer or hand over a bankers' check at counter? Did they give you a receipt?

Upon reaching 55 years old, you can withdraw a portion of your CPF savings depending on your CPF balances. You can withdraw a lump sum from your Special Account and/or Ordinary Account as well as any balance above the Medisave Minimum Sum (MMS) in your Medisave Account (MA).

Better to leave the money in Epf and use your own money for investment purposes.

Know the dividend then what you want to do?
If the dividend are better than last year, will you increase your own contribution?
If the dividend lower, will you reduce your own contribution?
*
If dividend above 6%, still worthwhile to top up. Otherwise just let it be. cool2.gif

EPF: Our exposure to 1MDB is very limited

Of course the ceo needs to say this to restore people`s confidence. Otherwise you will see plenty of epf withdrawals.

Anyway I am still making my yearly 60k self contribution to the EPF..

Gomen can even confiscate/haircut your money you have in the commercial bank. Example Cyprus.

I still suspect they do not distribute 100% of income.
They will retain some to smoothen the lesser years. Politics.

Epf is not asnb or any other mutual fund. They are not required to distribute 100% of their income. As per law they are required to give a minimum of 2.5% dividend per annum as per section 27 of EPF Act 1991.

u mean they relasing the money without selling the investment ?  rclxub.gif
even on paper also need to sell right

In accounting, you need to know profit does not equal cash.

Let's say epf make 50b profit in year 2020 which is enough to pay all shareholders 5% dividend, by liquidating 50b assets in 2021 will not affect its ability to pay you 5%.

It could only to a certain extent affect your 2021 dividend which would be paid in 2022. Say now epf has 970b in assets, after liquidating 50b assets, it only has 920b assets to generate profits for year 2021. Again this should not affect your dividend now which is based on profits of 2020.
