The dividend earned on Akaun 55 does not go to Akaun Emas. The dividends are calculated based on the balances in the respective accounts, and Akaun 55 dividends remain in Akaun 55.  Only new contributions after age 55 go into Akaun Emas and earn its own dividends.

QUOTE(MUM @ Oct 2 2025, 05:49 AM)
Just for the fun of it.

If living in KV and want to hv 5 mil in epf by 60 yrs old.
Assume starting to work at age 23 and has 37 yrs to work to accumulate it.
Assuming epf giving 5.5% dividends annually.

How much min salary to hv pm at age 23 with 6% annual increment?
How many people in KV can hv that kind of work/salary in KV?

What about if want to hv just 2-3 mil in epf by 60 yrs old?
*
minimum starting salary will always be that 1.8-2.5k... per your spec will never get to 5 mil at 60yo of today...

many folks i know have >5m... one needs rapid increments 2-3x first 4 to 8 years of working... a T10 career path in a good company...

650k is for one person. According to epf, that will allow spending of RM2690 monthly.

Assuming spouse also has the same amount, thats RM5380 combined.

And its net income. I feel thats ok for a basic lifestyle.

its not double as many things are shared... in fact some meals i share with the waifu when we eat out... old liao dun eat much...

you assume fixed 30k spending throughout... while real spending need to be inflated... you'll run out of money when included...

but your point remains... to spend 30k is not realistic... inversely 5 mil is a big number...

but as the saying goes... the more the merrier... biggrin.gif

if inflation is 5%... and epf is 6%... what is the problem?

seems like y'all like to worry about nothing... create scenarios to have sleepless nights...

55 yo should be able to withdraw all. Well, i think even 50 yo should be allowed to withdraw all money.

When we reach 50 years old and still dumb to get cheated or don't know how to control the expenses, nothing gov or anyone can do. Even gov set it only 70 yo is allowed to withdraw all, these people will still get cheated or finish their money fast and lose all their money at or after 70. Don't sacrifice the majority's benefits for a small potion of people.
Due to some reasons, this "tax the richer higher tax to give to the poorer", i always think it is related to communism system, like a communism system in disguise.
*
des why i think mixed pencen type plan is coming... like cpf

majority always get penalized because of a few idiots...

In my opinion, the locked up portion (or pension or whatever you call it) should be made optional to those who need and want it this way.

There should be no coercion in this sort of things. Not every EPF member needs or wants to be babysat.

folks that need pencen plan the most are the folks that want lump sum withdrawal... wink.gif
