I actually like his comment about the fixed income part, very true. They hold to maturity so they keep earning the coupon, not affected by market movements.

His explanation quite detailed and easy to understand, count me impressed. A lot of local FI CEOs cannot articulate about the investment portfolio like this guy.

How to compute EPF dividend? E.g say on 12th Jan 2022 got inflow RM3k...is the weighted dividend counted from the date of inflow, or start of month, or end of month...how?

CEO says EPF doesn't practice "reserving"....which might be true, but they still get to decide WHEN to realize returns.

It's probably true. No active reserving, but passive reversing can still be done. Ultimately, when EPF is sitting on unrealised gains based on market value, then can CHOOSE when to realise the gains. In terms of coupons from fixed income and dividends from equities, I believe they would pay out everything they get. But dividends/coupons will only get them to 2% to 3% dividends...so the balance comes from realising unrealised gains or from trading income.

If they got a block of shares of TNB in 2008 for example, they can sell that block in 2022 to get a handsome "realised" income. So long term holding power allows them to do it.

Two rules:

1. Don't switch out funds to 3rd party unit trust funds via MIS scheme

2. Don't withdraw any amount before retirement for any reason whatsoever

Capital gains tax is only for Private Equity man...chill.
