Few banks actually...

Dividend quite good..

Only thing it's non shariah 😄 if anyone strictly follow the Islamic rule... Then those off the limit 😔
*
Some banks can pay good dividend when times are good, but their underlying asset might be risky. So if times turn bad, they will have problem with their earnings, and dividend will greatly affected.

There is one more company worth looking into if wanna invest for longer term: TimeCom. They have great balance sheet, with growing business and paying good dividend.. Maybe you can study this company a bit more to get more insight.

Dividend investing is boring by default brows.gif but good for being a cash cow.

Actually wealth making process is boring, only gambling is exciting biggrin.gif So whoever introduce something 'exciting' to us, better be careful.

Take a good look at all these companies that EPF hold substantial percentage, then we will realise not many are actually performing well.

ever since i start working and slowly understand personal finance, i always so furious when see this kind of action.....nowaday at work place i keep brainwashing those almost 55 yo uncle aunties to treat their EPF account like CASA, instead of withdrawing it out.....even better if dun have online withdrawal and only go withdrawal when really needed the funds...
*
Make it harder to withdraw so that can spend less right? biggrin.gif Like credit card, spend without any hassle, end up spend more.

so many cases happens...
locally & foreign countries...

can last from just 1 year to 5 years max...

sudden inflow of cash... in this case EPF retirements $$$$, can make people goes unsound & irrational thinking.... thus spending unnecessarily  tongue.gif

so basically....financial education is must... and start in school levels  icon_rolleyes.gif

There are 3 things we must learn in order to do well financially:

1. Make money - upgrading your own self so that you can have better earning capability.

2. Save money - learning to control what is need vs want. What is asset and what is liability.

3. Invest money - everyone has few good chances to become really rich in life. Whether one sees it, we need to learn how to invest when opportunities arise.

Unfortunately, as you said, no 3 which is so important, yet so little was taught in the entire schooling time.

UT was my first foray in investment after started working.. did DCA (form of forced savings) for 2+ years and now stop invresting in UT
Went into dividend stocks for better returns.

Now after 20 years my UT investment is worth >250% .... so little only hahahaha
*
Do you know where the profit went to? It went to the management fee. A lot of UT charge 1.5%-2% management fee annually. If the UT make 8%, only 6% distributed to shareholders. If the UT lose 8%, shareholders lose 10%. So earn, you earn lesser, lose you lose more.

But in order to pay the $$$

EPF need to sell some of their assets??

If mass withdrawals happens.....

Indirectly would effects dividends too??

Make sure that the personal loan do have the interest rebate if you settle early. If not, it's not worth to settle.

U need to calculate the interest with the dividends you receive. N the dividends are compounding while the interest is reducing balance.

I think its ok to put back to kwsp, but I personally go for more rewarding things.

I'm old school. Will buy landed properties which can generate income then hold it long term. Your return on capital employed can be 10% or more due to ability to leverage via bank loan. my ROCE is 30% for assets bought 20+ years ago. Capital gain is paper only so not going to count that.
But should also diversify into equity, newer things like p2p financing, and keep 1-2% of your portfolio in high risk crypto and money game tongue.gif
*
Money game also considered as investment? 😂
