Sorry just to clarify.. if our EPF total fund is above rm1 million, we can withdraw any amount above this rm1 million right even if we are below 55?

Guys until now I do not see any incoming EPF for Jan 2023 in my account...should I be worried?
*
The self contribution I placed in early Jan ‘23 and Dec ‘22 caruman all reflected accurately in the i-akaun app as of today.

unfortunately, in Malaysia's context and due to our population's behavior, no politician will dare to propose this. Our people is just too used to sedekah, until basically election bribes can also be spinned as sedekah.

Also, by allowing this, EPF really will be abused by those who are truly rich, and that defeats  the purpose of this establishment.
*
The same way the poor are abusing the EPF by demanding "one-off" withdrawals.

Apart from the charts and figures, one must also consider the political sentiments in determining the actual dividends to be announced.

Based on average incum of rm4.36B per mth, which comes to rm52.3B for 2022, and if it takes rm9.5B for every percent of dividend, I would guesstimate a div of 5.5%.

How much further will political sentiment elevate this figure ??

No clue, anything extra is a bonus.
Expect the worse and be pleasantly surprised if we get high 5s or even 6😅

IMO, those who hv >1M in EPF (which I believe most sifus & bros here do) should continue to self contribute as much as possible. In case one comes across more attractive investment prospects elsewhere, then its fairly easy to withdraw the excess and transfer it to the alternative investment prospects.

The retained profits from 2021 could possibly be used to top-up and augment this year’s div.

Of the 3 economists, Geoffrey Williams forcast of being tough to top 6.1pct of 2021 as being
the most likely outcome for 2022.

I would disregard Mr Yeah Kim Leng altogether.

Mr Liew gave a too optimistic broad band of 5.5pct to 6.5pct.

I agak agak it to be 5 to 5.5pct.

Mr Yeah KL is a member of the advisory board to the Finance Minister.
He would have an insider viewpoint that other economists aren't privy to.

He wouldn’t have any insiders viewpoints as it is only advisory board itself that Anwar will only seek advice if necessary 🤦‍♀️

Unlike Council of Eminant Persons which would have access to govt and its documents unlike this board 🤦‍♀️

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt as you’ve probably served in such a capacity yourself 😎
