All those portfolio mix is depending on individual age, risk appetite & investment objectives....

Those near to retiring age or already retired tend to be in safer investment mix...

Younger one more risk taking....

But what I trying to say... Whatever is your age profile.... EPF is must in your portfolio mix.... Because you can't go wrong with that.... Either 20% or 50% is your choice & decisions.... See how you adjust....

There are lots of variances/factors to consider here as you have pointed out.
One big one for me way back 15 years ago was the Runggit value or rather the depreciative weakness of our beloved currency.
i learnt many years ago that the currency of a country is like a share certificate of that nation.
It is a measure of the economic capability of the country.
If it's bad, i will go down relatively to other currencies and thus purchasing strength as we import lots of stuff for us.

So, i decided in 2002 to get into gold to hedge that and also in 2008/9 to get into SGD denominated assets to hedge against the Runggit due to the inability of this nation to resolve the RnR issues. And using SG stocks to create cashflows against the Runggit and not being stagnant.
In hindsight now, both gold and SG assets has done pretty well against the Runggit.

Need take AUM increase into consideration so that will further dilute the dividend

Yeah. The income increase is a useless figure as far as individual stakeholder is concerned.
It's the earnings per unit which will give an indication whether the dividend will be increased or not.
But, this figure is never published.
