If it's from G and deposited into EPF, it will stay there until 50/55... Better than cash handout become shopping money plus it beefed up EPF investment size

Isn't it?
*
give cash handout better. at least its 100% sure funds not from EPF dividends
if give inside EPF is just giving a higher rate of dividends to <10k and lower rate to >10k

it is not right for gov to take our money
it is against the law
EPF is not Gov bank account
they can declare lower / higher dividend but they cannot take the money and use it on something else
*
maybe govt issues a loan and EPF buys it. who knows?

This year EPF dividend will be announced earlier because by March they want to come up with account 3

If I were to design account 3, I would say all dividend is withdrawable through account 3

Make things even better if you don't withdraw gov give bonus of rm500 if your total EPF is less than 10k

Interest in account 3 follow EPF rate

Then majority of ppl will be happy except those t20
*
what is account 3 again?

Old folk still having doubt on EPF... Don't know why got trust issues with that organization.....

EPF been existence don't know how many donkey years already.... Yet don't want trust... Says bankrupt, big hole etc.

Each year, their rate is quite okay...
Only during few initial years the rate not so good... And during early 00' where I think rate around 4%+... Most time it's 5% above....
*
my unit trust agent got 50+ also tell me EPF money not my money. it belongs to govt. not sure true or not.

if u just spend your dividend do think you would be able to finish spending your EPF money till the day you die just assume u die by 75?
*
Better assume die at 110. I think chances of living above 110 is rare. That’s why safe withdrawal rate for epf is half the dividends assuming inflation rate is 3.5%.

Silly question.
If you spend just the dividend, the principal will not reduce!  laugh.gif
*
The purchasing power will reduce because of inflation. Hence there is a safe withdrawal rate.

Cannot use. A third of my relatives still alive at 90. One is 98 now. Due to better medical care. That’s why EPF must last till 100. Fall back to outside asset if live longer.

It mentioned,..."is expected to live".
Not sure "will or can die by ...."

Ha ha

It is just statistics...is in % of chances or probabilities

Of course it is always better to hv enough in kwsp to last till 100.

But in reality, according to kwsp, ...
71 pct of EPF contributors aged 55 and below do not have enough to rise above poverty level

I don’t understand. If one contributes average a thousand a month assuming no increment and bonus for 30 years, won’t that hit 1m?

The median malaysian salary is RM2600 per month.

https://www.imoney.my/articles/monthly-median-dosm

Assuming statutory kwsp contributions of 11 and 12%, thats RM598 monthly.
*
Wow that’s low. I lost touch with Malaysian job market. I remember 2.5k was what I got 20 years ago so I went to Singapore. But even with 598 monthly in EPF working 30 years with no increment can still hit 600k? Yeah I lazy calculate.

I'm more concern when all these new intake EPF contribution would increase the burden on EPF to perform...

meaning EPF needed to perform well & pays higher dividend rate... and with increase monthly contribution, they needed to find investment that give better & quality returns
*
Track the Nasdaq and SP500. Confirm sure better return and high quality. Even I blur blur also make money. Shariah compliant or not don’t know i think no alcohol and gambling company.

My bad. Good for company. Bad for you. Company get interest. Call the company and ask why the epf not paid to you first. If they refuse then report.
