Hi guys, new to this Live business...

Not sure whether I missed out on some pages, but I'm still wondering...

Since it's not possible to use Malaysian address yet, can I subscribe using my credit card?

The first few lines are not important, they only check the zipcode and state so you can put something like No 1 Kampung Atap Zink, Illinois 61710 to subscribe to a US account laugh.gif

So it will go through even if I'm in Atap Zink US, when I'm somewhere in Malaysia? smile.gif

Some sites will raise more enquiries when your credit card and shipping addy is different. Good for us I guess.

Now, I just need to get a 360 first.

Guys Im very confused, I just signed up for Xbox Live under a US account and managed to upgrade to monthly Gold membership with my NexG Mastercard.

The problem is I cant purchase any points using exactly the same payment method! This is really confusing, is there a different system for Live subscription and for MS point purchases?

Hope you guys can help me out, there's all these packs and cool stuff but I cant purchase any of them without any points! sad.gif

...

Ok I just read back and found out about Microsoft banning foreign credit cards. This really sucks, and I was looking forward to playing Lumines Live... sad.gif

Anyone know where I can buy some US point cards? And will they even work?

I must say I am quite upset. Cant even switch to Singapore content as the region is locked (unless Microsoft decide to change it for me or ban me...)

Hmm, if that's the case, what country should I opt for when I'm signing up?

Maybe the experts can help me with the pro and cons?

My advice is go for Singapore Region if you are in Malaysia that is..
there is less lag cause the servers are nearer..
I have managed to connect to Australia with Singapore account also..
hardly any lag.. but can see got speed difference a bit..

So go for Singapore! hehehe biggrin.gif

Some of the content available on Live! is region limited too right? So what would I be missing if I were to 'join' Singapore?

regarding servers and lag... it makes no difference if u choose US, Singapore or Uganda... the XB live servers are in the US, in unknown locations (they think it's cool to make it secret, mission impossible / james bond konon tongue.gif ). well, one might argue that since the locations are secret, who knows there might be XB Live servers in SG? the thing is, XB Live server locations don't matter... it's the players' location that do.

XB Live is merely a match-making service; games don't happen on the server, players host the game (thus becoming the game server), other players join this game, ala P2P... XB Live just point a lonely gamer to other lonely gamers (this sounds, *oh so ghey*!). after match-making, it's the players' connection to each other that determine latency... (demn, double-ghey!)

the reasons u should be considering before choosing a region are: download content availability, payment options, ability to purchase MS points.

US has alot of content but problem buying MS Points (for us malaysians)
vs
SG has no problem on purchasing MS Points but not much content (no TV shows sad.gif )

*ps: i cant confirm this but there are reports saying that u currently can use asian ms points card to reload a us account... anyone can confirm whether this still work?

calling jpn silver GTs, got free idolm@ster theme for download. was reading some game impressions - seems like the gameplay mechanics is pretty hardcore. wonder if anyone who's familiar with the language will import it?

I'm still on the first month trial thingy. Unfortunately, my gamertag has been registered under US region.... sigh...

Like Arj said, you can use simply put the address but your credit card does work.

If you don't have a credit card, you can get the debit card from AmBank... it's one of the pinned topic.
