so basically US accounts can rent a HD version (movies) for abt USD6 (24 hrs viewing) but get to keep the SD version (does not expire)? or did i read the press release wrong?

i believe the 30days freetrial GOLD is not applicable to new xboxlive accounts created on a 2nd hand machine cos the 1st owner already used it.

i'm not sure abt that. some ppl say it'll allow a max of 4 free trials per machine, mb so that ppl wont keep creating new gamertags every month

its the y2k006 prob. sounds like even majornelson was surprised by this stealth update.

^ create a new SG GT, either replay all your previous games + achievements or pay someone paytime salary to replay on ur behalf

where are u located? maybe streamyx in ur area still unstable? try reboot modem/reconnect for a new ip and test again.

calling jpn silver GTs, got free idolm@ster theme for download. was reading some game impressions - seems like the gameplay mechanics is pretty hardcore. wonder if anyone who's familiar with the language will import it?

those games are NTSC/UC. i think only 1 forumer here has NTSC/UC.
sold & playable on both xbox & xbox360 in the US only (not sure abt canada )

edit: those games are not the regular XBLA games sold with MSpoints at marketplace. they were sold as dvd games (with proper packaging). u can buy them at USD3.99 (and now USD0.99) with burger king meals

actually its possible to even share a gold gamertag within 2 different 360s. if u willing to share ur hotmail password, ur fren can recover ur GT into his 360, but he wont have ur gamesaves (unless u transfer using memory card) if u too bz to online-plau, he can online-play on ur behalf. LoL

a note of caution: this is the method those top 10 gamerscore leaders used to boost their overall scores. best make sure u and ur fren don't try to go online using 1 GT at the same time, the server might detect and flag it as suspicious 'hacking' acticity

yalor, u r a wise consumer and a good fren. just set a timetable for ur fren or ask him to sms u 1st, if he want to online-play. but u both will be using a same set of friendlist

i dont read sunday times, anyone care to tell me where/when was the 360 being demo-ed, how come DPM get to play it?

its all about money

sure its great to get free stuff from the marketplace, don't forget for most things publishers "publish" on the marketplace, they have to pay for it. those small cost gamerpicts and gamerthemes and part of the business model.

for example, capcom pays MS to put up all those "free" trailers and demos and ads to hype their lost planet game, but profits from gamerpicts, themes, map packs both company share the revenue.

i'm not 100% sure, but what u need is a hotmail account. the postal address of the hotmail account will determine what region gamertag u'll get (US/SGP/JPN/etc)

from the dashboard, log-in to ur offline account then choose "Join xboxlive". if u r lucky, ur gamertag is still not taken, just follow the on-screen instructions. good luck.
