I been using sea salt scrub and it does revitalize the skin, and also mainly eating food rich in collagen at the moment

Many factors - too many to list, that is your genes (important), stress, exposure to sunlight, smoking, pollution, exercsie and food.

In general, take lots of food that in anti-oxidants. Lots of good Vit-C will be one of your main defence. We age quicker because of the free radical exposure (caused by pollution, stress, natural by product of being alive). Anti-oxidants protects use from these damages.

So the way to counter it is to slow it down by eating lots of anti-oxidant rich foods (things like blueberries, avocadoes, Lots of Vit-C), and to prevent/minimize effects of free radical damange by cutting down stress, smoking, excessive sunlight in the noon, not over-exercisting. You can try facial exercises and massage with coconut oil. THere are lots of things you can do where you can research online.

Honesty, I doubt those collagen drinks/supplements will do any good. They are very expensive. Collagen is just a protein. When you ingest proteins, they get broken down into amino acids and get rebuild again into the suitable structure for use.

INstead of taking collagen supplments, I think it would be better if you stimulate your body to produce collagen instead (we lose this ability / collagen as we age). Something that would definitely help is VItamin C and MSM ie methylsulfonylmethane (organic sulfur). Vitamin C stimulates collagen production and MSM (sulfur) is necessary for building collagen. Sulfur is part of the materials in your cartillage, tendons, ligatments, collagen. VIt C+ MSM works together

MSM is not widely heard but is very useful. You can't find it here (at least cheap). The Vit-C + MSM combo (in high doses - ie 6000mg or more for both) is used as an alternative way for cancer treatment. For Vit-C, most are useless. You can get eithe those made in powder form from berries or the latest tech - lyposomal Vit-C.

You can see many beauty conscious girls on the internet which claimed that taking MSM powder/pills have helped tremendously in their skin (making them healthy , and even fairer). This is a long post - I believe you can learn a lot here - just build on here and do you reseach according to your needs.

I don't take anti-aging products and I still look 10 years younger than my age. blush.gif

The only thing I use is a hand-held face massager; don't know if that helps.

Just sharing my 2 cents worth...
You may want to consider StemTech. Being a rather skeptical person, I only started taking StemTech after trying out numerous supplements in the market. I was amazed at the results...years of suffering from migraine & acute sinusitis cleared within the 1st month. For me, that's a real big relief...

Got my parents to take it too. It's really amazing to see the results...hypertension & diabetes controlled, pains from osteoarthritis gone, glowing skin plus lightening of pigmentation.

Have also been receiving positive feedbacks from friends who have been consuming StemTech too.

If it's good then why not share, right? smile.gif

What is StemTech?

Stemtech AFA Extract™ is composed of a patented all-natural concentrate of an edible aquatic botanical known as Aphanizomenon Flos-aquae (AFA) that includes naturally-occurring Mobilin™. AFA grows naturally in a pristine environment in the Northwestern United States.

The Ultimate in Cellular Renewal
The process of cellular regeneration is essential to helping you maintain optimum health. Factors such as daily exposure to environmental toxins, physical activity, poor diet, stress and the aging process may cause a decline in your body’s ability to renew itself - putting your wellness at stake. What you need is a natural supplement that supports the natural release of adult stem cells from your bone marrow - Stemtech AFA Extract is designed to do just that!

An Extraordinary Supplement
Stemtech AFA Extract™ is different from traditional multivitamins that work by supplying nourishment to old cells. Instead, Stemtech AFA Extract™ supports the natural release of adult stem cells, the “master” cells that maintain tissue by transforming themselves into healthy new cells. This may help you maintain universal health and give you the edge you need to feel your best. Information about product features and benefits may be found on our Product Fact Page.

Stemtech AFA Extract™ is an important part of daily adult stem cell nutrition.

Hope the info helps.

Cheers

I can suggest you common supplement to treat skin aging.

1 ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID
2. DEANOL
3 DHEA
4 PYRUVATE

In this list 3rd and 4th one are most effective.

Interesting enough I am consuming the sheep placenta, from NZ, which I am pretty satisfied with the outcome. I have been consuming it for more than 8 months and still taking it every morning before my breakfast. My family and friends saw the effect when I met up with them for lunch and dinner or in any special gathering after the 3rd month I consumed. I don't promote the product because I don't want to be seen as a sales person unless I am asked about my face and skin complexion. My family members and my mom's friends are consuming the said product and they noticed the difference.

Certainly, sheep placenta is not a magical product. I take it as my daily supplements because it helps me to rejuvenate my body systems. In order to maintain a good health, you need to make sure you keep a good diet and occasionally attend facial treatment.

Prior to consuming the sheep placenta, I tried other MLM products and collagen bottled drinks which were sold in the market. Honestly, I do not see any effect. Also my advice to you, do not ever consider the products from China. Only believe when you have verified the certification. The NZ product which I am consuming has its certifications from its local authority and I believe that the NZ authorities are stringent when releasing the healthcare products to the public.

I have some of the feedback from people after consuming the said NZ product as below:

"I take Placenta every day. My physical condition improved remarkably so on. My skins and muscles became strong and kept on elastic condition. I will continue to take them."

"This product is awesome. Probably the best one out there. Good for both men and women. It just makes you feel good from the inside out. We're on our second jar and will continue to use it."

"I'm suffering from balding and it's thicken my hair after 3 months of taking this. Previously I was having issue with my liver (fatty liver), now the recent blood test came back and there is no indicator on that issue anymore. I believe it is a joint effort of regular exercise, diet control and supplement intake."

Let me know if you need to know more about the product.

Isn't DHEA banned or prescription only here?

Again, from Page 1 Post 6 -- "Can a Collagen Drink Mix Improve Skin?"

Still so many suggestions....

I believe collagen (natural form from animal protein) is great for overall human body. But turning aged skin to young is a different story. I improved health a lot by lifestyle such as nutrition, workout, massage, mind control, etc. My skin tone is much better but still my wrinkles are there. Yet I dont care since I sleep like baby everyday, my energy level is consistent throughout the day. And I am happy. smile.gif

Hi Just2centslah,
How often do you consume something like that?
I have just read this article https://www.vitaminexpress.org/uk/collagen-supplements and not sure about the dosage. I also improved my health, but I don't like my skin condition, probably because of age biggrin.gif but still, should I try it?
Thanks.

Hi there,
I don't take collagen peels or powder. I take collagen mostly from animal protein such as beef (usually New York strip), salmon, eggs, chicken. I used to do strict Keto diet for a few months, my skin was 100% cleared up during that time. Now I eat everything (yes, carbs too!) but I still eat good amount of animal protein everyday. Good skin (clean skin with a bit of glowing) is a sign of health. That's enough for now for me. Prolonged fasting is required to reverse aging but I prefer enjoying life day by day. Hopefully it helps. smile.gif

Add in silica.

Take the form from bamboo, which is 70 to 80 percent
silica.

Nature's Best of UK, as well as Solaray, has it.

https://www.naturesbest.co.uk/minerals/silica/silica-200mg/

The more common one from horsetail is only 8 percent.
Lots on Iherb, Vitacost.
Kordel's here had it at one time, but big hard tablets,
difficult to swallow.

The liquid silicic acid by Jarrows and other brands
(Biosil) is also good, but expensive.

Silica is vital not only to your skin, but your arteries,
especially your aorta, as well, keeping them more soft
and pliable. Otherwise they will harden with age, just
like skin.

For facial creams, try those with coenzyme Q10,
astaxanthin, lipoic acid, vitamin C. Quite expensive.

Drinking collagen doesnt really help much..

In nutrition study.. Eating foods rich in vitamin C and amino acids can increase the levels of hyaluronic acid and collagen in the body as both are important for skin.

put on sun protection sun block/sunscreen.. dont smoke.. etc.
