If you still want the light to be subtle.. you should put a reflector on her other side to give that rim light or use a flash/strobe with very low power so that she doesn't blend completely into the background and make the subject stand out as needed rather than blend in alltogether
*
thanks sifu biggrin.gif will try rim lighting soon.. haha

if no extra light, then no need rim light la.
just lighten the background  whistling.gif

use a white background, so u can control how dark u want it to go depending on the distance the model is from it and of cos the light.
can make it high key, make it go grey or even totally black.

got 3 studio lights, pic i posted using only 1 light

maybe your battery is faulty also

borrow from friends ans test2 first~

If you are still new to using DSLR and unsure whether you will continue be passionate about using one, then the D3200 and D5200 would be good enough (try to avoid the 18-55 kitlens though)
If you think you will upgrade your lenses later on, perhaps its better to go for D90 or D7000 hmm.gif

So most of you consider D700 over D600?but I heard D700 is discontinued already right? How much D700 new body?
I am not sure the money is worth for old tech + 2nd hand?(D700) or new tech yet still have flaws (D600)

What are the advantages of FX? If I can own FX body but not the lens, can use DX lens temporary?

I am using D90, if upgrade one shot go for FX which recommended by my friend. Saving money ><....
*
You can use DX lens on FX body (D700) but there'll be crop. u can see it at the viewfinder.
and below is the link explain more about FX & DX,
http://photographylife.com/nikon-dx-vs-fx
hope this helps.

For DSLRs, you can choose to purchase only the body (without the lens) OR body + lens. However, the more budget DSLRs often come with a 18-55mm lens, which is not very good..
For starters, try to get either the D3200/ D5200(the prices in Nikon's website are a lot more expensive tongue.gif) with 18-105mm lens since its more versatile nod.gif

Well, in my view I've always felt the focal length is too little (even when I've just started using a DSLR).. the built is not nice as well, with virtually no 2nd hand value sad.gif
