hey guys, wondering if anybody know anything about this.

i just received a call from TMNET( i think? ) said that they can upgrade my rm149 5mb unifi to 10mb unifi for rm148/monthly just that no hypptv service(never use it anyways) just wondering if anybody else got this offer? or is it just some random scam call ? cause the number was a private number. ._.

According to TM, Air Itam area supposed to have Unifi by year end or beginning of 2014. Don't know how true is that though.

I know the D plaza condo area is the best...got both Unifi and Maxis Fibre Well although this is a TM Unifi thread but Maxis Fibre seems cheaper and faster

Maybe it's Unifi but most probably it's Maxis.. People whose selling will tell you anything to sell something. Of course it's relevant if its Maxis because Maxis have no HyppTV.

BTW, do you proceed with the offer or what? I think more than 60% user would interested with the offer because they not using HyppTV. But if it Maxis than it's another story. Bad routing, p2p capping hour and so on..

yeah, i said i was interested.. then he said he would proccess my order and a technician will contact me to set me up with a new modem for the 10mb connection.. guess il reconfirm once the technician calls me o_O

I would say 90% it's maxis if the technician need to come to setup NEW modem. Upgrading unifi only need to update setting on TM backend.

I'm not so sure about Asus. I used to own a N13U and it keep on hang. Easily got hang 5 times in a day for unknown reason. So far I use the TP-Link Router is good. Swtich IPTV also faster than the TM Dlink router and 10+ device connected also no hang. So far using it for 2-3 years did not hang be4.

I'm unable to go on to any websites that are "new". New as in websites I have never seen before. It gives me a "server not found" message instead.

I've visited lowyat forums a lot before this problem started, and I can enter this forum easily. Same thing goes for Kotaku, Youtube and Facebook.

But other sites? Nope.

It is confirm Maxis la. I had the same shit people calling me too when I was upgrading my streamyx to Unifi.

Chain of events:

1) Applied for Unifi online on 18th May.

2) around 1~2 days later, someone callled me. Said he is from Tmnet and called to "confirm" my service order, and I told him yes, AND he has my details(know i just applied for unifi, my IC name and my contact name which is used in the unifi online application form).. So I really thought he is TM people..

3)Now is the shocking moment, he then ask me do I surf more or do I also need the IPTV, I told him I surf more THEN he proceed ask me why not take Maxis Fibre 10mbps, same price as Unifi but x2 the speed, bla bla bla.. I lazy talk to him because I already did my research and i already made my mind to go with Unifi. So I just straight away told him dont need, then he was like ok ok, we will send technician over in few days time to pasang, then end of convo.

4)1~2 days later, this time female calling me, and this time is the real "confirmation" of my online application.. The lady confirmed with me my online application and proceed set up date and time for installation.

5)1~2 days later unifi technician came and install. End of story..

Unanswered question: How did they get my details and know i just applied for unifi, etc. I thought all those info should be for TM only? How come 3rd party got access to it?

if thats the case then probably its the same for me.. but its still puzzling how they get my info.. this info should be exclusive to tm only.. he shouldnt know my address n what package i am subscribed to for unifi.. perhaps today the call was from maxis personel aswell.. this is kinda dirty tactic lo if they say that they themselves are tmnet staff instead they are doing for maxis..
