Oh,so now my stable build can update to the pub ROM?
*
Of course you can
The stable mr2 is already a old rom compared to the latest nightly build
After a few more nightly upgrade you will see a later stable mr3 release

Haha, just scare later become as buggy as cm10 doh.gif
*
AOKP nightly is way better than CM10
Dont bother with nightly build if you are concern with bugs
I can say i dont see any serious bug with the nightly
Infact developer welcome you to feedback so that he can improve n release another stable version

Benny,I do as you said, install zip via recovery, but installation failed
*
Your download is probably corrupted
If you go read the XDA thread , quite several users complain about installation fail. Re downloading it usually solve it
I have experienced these twice since I started using his rom . I think is his hosting server problem

Using SmoothRom v4.4 and downloaded free Rye Studios kids story books. But when I play the story book app, no sound comes out. After that, whether it is a movie, another app, a game.... all the apps also don't have any sound. I need to restart in order to get the sound back with movies and other apps. This is software or hardware issue?
*
Probably is rom problem
No such issues on mine. Just tested it
This is one rom I have listed it right at bottom of 12 roms I have tested. Never like it as too buggy

I try it because it shows very high benchmark score. Which roms would be at the top of your list? Could you kindly please share? Thank you.
*
Benchmark is in my bottom list of choice. Not interested in benchmark but more in stability and reliability

My present rom is carbon v1.0 and move to it from aokp ( stephen spear).

cry.gif cannot update. Failed on verification.  cry.gif
Mine is 16GB Wifi..why failed?. Look like need to wait on official update
*
You must be on stock ROM without any system apps removed or disabled n stock kernel
Just flash the update zip using any recovery ( cwm or tarp). This update so far available for wifi only model

does the supplier helps to do rooting service? i hate to do the command prompt as im a noob. what is the benefit of rooting in Google nexus. I knew for now that people root Kindle to get to it's ecosystem of amazon libraries. what about google play? the apps are free right , for Google nexus tablet.?
*
Use nexus 7 toolkit
No need to issue command from terminal
Just a simple click n select process unbelievably freaking easy

No harm installing it

Uncle Benny i fail to flash 4.2.2 zip. I m on stock rom & rooted. TWRP recovery error - system/app/browserproviderproxy.apk. Is this file safe to remove from system?  notworthy.gif
*
What zip file did you download
The correct file is around 46mb only
Not recommended to remove any system apk

guys, does custom kernel relate to software?for example, now franco kernel is jelly bean,in future will have keylime pie,so can we still use the franco kernel?
*
Normally kernel will match new firmware n is often change to match a new build
You can always try to flash. Worse you get a fail flash if incompatible. Always read kernel developer specs before flashing
For minor firmware upgrade normally is OK. Example I flash Franco 46 on latest 4.2.2 without any problems

guys, how long does it normally takes custom rom to have new software updates such as android 4.2,2?
*
There is already one - and is not a bad rom , one of the better ones I'd say ( tested previously his 4.2.1 ) : Codefire X

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043095

I believe over the next few days you will be seeing developers releasing their 4.2.2 version. As is only a minor update, it is not that difficult for them to do it

should have a way to not flash stock 4.2.1..hmm
*
If you use nexus 7 toolkit to flash stock image midway you have option not to wipe your visible data. Only hidden partition data is wipe only n these can readily restore back from titanium backup

Can I just directly flash and use ota root keeper to backup my root?
*
Come on, do read his posts properly before asking
Of course you can backup your root using rootkeeper
Even you lose root is no big deal. Just use nexus toolkit and root it again but choose 4.2.1 since software is not updated
And dont ask again whether it can be done. Of course it can be done . I just did it for my friend lastnight

Don't.

Make sure you are on stock rom 4.2.1 with stock kernel + rooted. Use ota root keeper and then put the update zip in your Nexus 7 and flash the zip to update to 4.2.2.
*
The update zip is only a update file not a full rom . So you must be on 4.2.1 stock first
