I stayed in Langkasuka b4...very quiet & just at the junction to the airport (it is about 1.5KM away from the airport..sister hotel to Helang which is an airport hotel. Langkasuka is rated at 4star but a little aged....Beach..I din check whether there is a beach! btw the beach nearer to airport is muddy. inc of Langkasuka. Wekend car rental almost similar to weekday -lah..nowadays Langkawi is damn quiet compared to yesteryear....another curse probably biggrin.gif lotsa white elephent everywhere & poor kampung houses....

On food, Langkasuka really way out...u hv to drive to Pantaio Cenang (about 5KM away) or the nearest is Cocoa beach not far away on the way to Pantai Cenang...food not bad but a little pricy...ehhh actually most of the seafood in Langkawi very pricy -loh...

Besides hotels and resorts, is there any apartment like Ria Apartment Genting at Langkawi? I'm considering a trip for ten... Need recommendation badly and urgently cos the trip should be happened at the end of April. The location preferably nearby to beautiful beach, better if it's budget accomodation. I'm cluesless about the beaches at Langkawi.
I'd also like to find out where to enquire bus tickets to Kuala Kedah?

Let say u get the cheapest 3 rooms condo for RM280 X 2 nites=RM560 so it will be RM56/pax...

For chalet, Let say you get RM60/nite....probably 3 to a room...so u get ~RM36/pax...just an easy math...

There are lotsa chalets around Pantai Cenang (The happening beach but not the best beach)...try looking for past posting, there are dozens of chalets, motels around there.....Cenang beach is about 25km away from Kuah Town /5Km away from airport....

Can I have some reviews on these 2 popular attraction, Burau Bay and Pantai Tengah? Generally, the hotel have limitation for guests per room, what if I exceed the limit with/without their knowledge? Thanks!

its agaisnt the hotel policy to put more than two person in a room if it is twin sharing without paying more. but if u exceed, and they don't find out.. its ok..but if they do find out, then they might impose a charge for it. in case of emergency like fire, your extra unregistered guest will not be in their name list.

Burau Bay has only 1 Resort i.e Mutiara Burau Bay - 3star hotel & not far away from Cable Car station..Further South there are few Internationl hotels at Pantai Kok such as Berjaya, Sheraton, Sanctuary, Langkawi Lagoon & etc. (I personally prefer those in Pantai Kok- water clarity -not bad. Price of those hotels >RM150/nite max =3ppl (wth extra bed) -

Pantai Tengah - Frangipani, Holiday Villa, The Lanai & Federal Lodge.. The cheapest I think is Federal lodge at ~RM150/nite. Frangipani used to be the cheapest when its was known as Langkawi Village Resort - nice scenic pool Rite now, It has since renovated, changed name and price >Holiday Villa! There are few small backpack chalets on the hilly side (no beach) but I can't remember the names.. Water clarity esp at Holiday Villa is good.

For budget -no choice -Pantai Cenang (lousy beach) wth all the backpackers motels, chalets, pubs, restaurants & small souvenir shops....
