my friends and i (10 people) will be going to Langkawi on 22nd September for 4D3N.

Langkasuka resort is having a promotion, rm83 pernite for deluxe room. i was wondering...is it BIG enough to squeeze all of us in one room???

we planned to rent a van as well to ferry all of us together instead of going in 2 separate cars.

can someone give me a phone numbers of van rentals?

and...which is the nicest beach ???

i will be visiting Langkawi from 24th to 26th August, will be staying in Awana using the share holder voucher. Since it's consired low-season, i suppose to rent a 1.5lit car for 3 days should cost about RM210 to RM240?
However, what i need to know is whether do i need to place a deposit? I don't have a credit card, and i do not intend to bring that much cash with me.
A friend told me i can show them my hotel booking and also my return flight ticket, then i only need to pay 20% of the rental price, is that true?? hmm.gif

during low season, Wira Kelisa can be as low as RM50 per 24 hours
squeeze it till the max

Normal car rental deposit/collateral is 1 day rental rate..so if u get RM150 for 3 days...just add RM50 for a refundable deposit which will be refunded once to return the key.

It's just like Giant/Tesco/Carrefour...certain items are cheapers than another...anyway the pricing almost the same wth abit diff of RM0.10 to as high as RM10 or more depedning on the products u buy.

Why my previous post didn't appear, i'm going this friday anyone going this friday pm me, we sama sama rent car so we can bargain more,

Anyways one person is permited to bring put 1l of liquor, things like yomeishu which is classified as health product u can bring out unlimited, and fags u could bring out one carton which is equivalent to one 10 packs. Thats it.

Sometimes the customs don't bother to check, but if they check and you just bought one litre it's ok.

How to not let them check, go in with one group of many people when everyone is going in so they normally have 2 /3 people so they odn;t bother to check everyone

Yes Barn Thai is a nice luxury restaurant in Langkawi. Its in the middle of mangrove. Expect Rm200++ for 2 person. 1 more restaurant you can have lunch or dinner is Fish Farm & Floating Restaurant(Hole in the wall). Quite nice view and experience.

Direction : Go to Kilim Jetty, and call them to take you at Jetty. They will come and pick you at jetty to the restaurant which require about 5-10min boat ride. Free boat service. The prices is a bit pricey but lower than Barn Thai. After eat, you can visit fish floating farm for Rm5 per person. They will feeding fish and make tour for you.

What I eat my last visit, Grouper, rice, tomyam, lobster and also mantis prawn. All for 2 person except lobster for total Rm119. The food was not best in Langkawi but scenery and experience was great.

Add:

The best seafood I guess is Wonderland Restaurant at The shop beside Bella Vista hotel.

When I go there, many Langkawi people suggested me to go there. Since I'm Muslim, I'm asking them about Halal or not, they just answer Halal and its 100% pork free. There are a lot of Malay eat there.

just return from langkawi yesterday.
rented an old type p.iswara 4days rm120, nonid deposit.

stayed at Langkasuka Beach Resort for 4D3N(nonid deposit too). hotel & room looks old. but the beach not bad, sit there every evening & nite and de last day only get to see sunsets cos too many clouds/haze blocked. breakfast...so so only.

1st day cant enjoy de cable car cos bad weather, so postpone to 2nd day. nice ride & view.lucky me cos on 13 & 14 the cable car service will close for monthly maintenance. but dun buy souvenirs there cos i found exactly same thing sell at town more cheaper.

3rd day went for island hoping, rm40 to 3 island - pregnant maiden lake-beware a lot monkey lurking ard, eagle feeding- sit in the boat watch those eagle flying & catch their food, wet rice island- very nice beach! but manage to swim awhile only cos rain suddenly.

duty free shop at langkasuka hotel(kuah town), spent almost rm600 to get liquor, ciggs , chocs.
get a pair nike shoes with 35% sale!
lunch & dinner also at those Chinese restaurant so not too expensive
