kian ur manulife?? and around my time too.......... can spot me for chest ka? stupid "trainers" there aren't helpful at all.........
*
Sure, I am going tomorrow about 6:30 pm. I wear a Everlast gloves (with wrist bands) and 3 quarter pants, hang around the free weights area till like 7:45 pm. I think PT are quite busy with their clients most of the time.

I think they hired this guy Rashid to help out in the gym as he seems to be offering to spot me most of the time.

Drop me a PM or line for how to identify you in the gym.

* Please note that I won't be in Manulife Fitness from May onwards as my employer will be moving to 1Utama by then.

Cheers

From Melbourne, Sports Centre for Au$25.

I used to use Nike ones, those goes kaput within 1 year. So far this one seems to be more durable.

And yes Nike one cost almost Au$50.

Nope didn't get that. You should go to Aussie sometimes (or at least Melbourne I think), their sports / bodybuilding equipments are quite cheap, especially during sale period.

I think some shops were clearing out their gloves at 50% discount, protein supplements usually comes with 10-15% discount and sometimes 25% when getting rid of old stocks and clothes like that usually get cheap after one or two years in the store.

And yes If you buy more than Au$300 in a single receipt you get 11% upon coming back in the airport so that's about Au$270 (after taking out GST)

That so called promo has existed for quite some time already since the beginning of the year.

On another note....shucks....saw someone washing his underwear at the sink. Damn unhygienic.
*
Dude,

That's quite disgusting.

I also encounter something even worse late last year, I saw a man washing his wank at the sink. Luckily he was fully clothed well except his wank.

I've been in gym for many years (Melbourne) and I have never seen something like that, should have bought lottery for that date I saw that.

Damn now, I remember.

*Please note that this happen in Manulife but I haven't seen that guy since that incident.

Cheers

FF should have an olympic lifting platform though. sheesh/
*
I think the reason for that is because they aren't many people who does that.

Heck, there aren't many people who uses the free weights session over here. So I doubt FF would build a specialized area just for Olympic lifting.

Just before I left Melbourne, my university have a decent sized room dedicated for Olympic lifters. The requirements is that you always need a coach to oversee your training and a medic on stand by, just in case you hurt yourself. Sounds very professional to me.

Hi.. I wanna join Fitness First.... How much per month? Izzit have to pay 1 whole year or pay per month?
*
I joined last year the price was as follows:

RM99 Administration
RM159 for Home per month
RM179 for Passport per month

If your employer sponsor you might be like the following (at least for mine)

RM99 Administration
RM100 for Home per month
RM130 for Passport per month

Dear all,

My last day in Manulife Fitness First will be on Saturday after the final move to Oneworld Hotel office block.

I am glad to meet so many people that I will probably miss when I go to Damansara Uptown ones.

I will write a tribute here and in my workout journal for those who I've known in Manulife Fitness First.

Thanks guys.

Cheers,

Ken

Haiya, I definitely must thanked to those who made my gym life here so much fun and interesting.

Without that, I probably won't look forward to go to gym.

Thanks to work and moving boxes this week and last, I was unable to attend gym till tomorrow. sad.gif

I'd strongly suggest going to The Curve branch. Better parking n equipments smile.gif
*
Thanks, I will alternate between both Curve and Uptown ones.

Uptown one is a lot closer to my home than Curve (less than 5 mins from home), I carpool to work so it's not convenient half the time.

Uptown has a lot of cardiovascular equipment but really lacks in free weights area big time. They should really upgrade that area.

Might drop by Curve during Mondays or Wednesdays.

Cheers

I use the Uptown one for the same reason.

Also because there's a McDonald's right next door.  Yum!
*
Also there's a Subway Restaurant like the other side of the road.

Subway is really expensive man, I had like a foot long one for RM25 or more.

When do you hit the gym, Angrydog?

I probably will be hitting the gym randomly on the week after work probably around 6-7 pm, hopefully 3 times a week....

Cheers

Comparing both Celebrity Fitness and Fitness First.

I prefer Fitness First a lot.

However, due to convenience and location, I have chosen CF in 1Utama.

When did you join? Is it still RM155 if under corporate?
*
Corporate means that your company will subsidize some of the fees.

Corporate rate is usually slightly lower than the actual rate.

Like for instance, I used to pay RM100 per month for home gym in Fitness First and RM130 for passport.

As opposed to RM159 for home and RM179 for passport previously. Not sure what is the actual rate now.

No longer with Fitness First. Now with Celebrity Fitness because it's closer to work.

Previously in Damansara Uptown and Manulife.

FF Uptown better than CF 1Utama.

Celebrity Fitness (in 1Utama) sucks a lot too.

No squat rack, weight room too small these days, treadmill keep breaking down....etc.

I might be going back to Fitness First in Uptown.

Can't wait to finally be able to use the squat rack and perhaps time to train after work.
